Obama Over The Top On RCP Map
RealClearPolitics takes the average of several national polls and uses it to construct an electoral vote map. Here’s their current results:
Obama 277 (211 solid, 66 leaning)
McCain 158 (143 solid, 15 leaning)
Tossup 103
It should be noted that Obama is ahead in several large tossup states. If the election were held today and each candidate won the states where he currently leads the results would be:
Obama 353
McCain 185

At this point in the election, I think we need to assess how the candidates have run the campaign (the big picture). McCain has run the most apallingly inept campaign yet seen (making evenclinton look good by comparison). Obama has just been steady – he has stayed on theme and on point. McCain has vacillated from extremes – calling off his campaign, calling for the SEC chair to be fired, saying the economy is fundamentally sound, calling a crisis the next day, picking an incompetent VP, lying about her credentials, lying in his attack ads, shameless promoting the lies and pretending to be above the fray.
He has alienated most of the media with his antics and they were predisposed to give him the benefit of the doubt until this erratic and inept campaign.

Spewage @9 – Funny thing is, still don’t see the thread? How can that be? Why is that? Rossi wasn’t perfect, but over and over he drove his point home. I won’t characterize Gregoire’s responses, but irritated petulant and snivel quickly come to mind.
I am just SHOCKED there is no Rossi Gregoire debate thread at this liberal fringe gathering site.
