The creeps the mayor’s office attracts. Just awful. I missed the original Stranger reporting mentioned above and I’m glad he’s gone. So there’s no specific call to action other than don’t let this happen in the future.

The world found out shortly before 2 p.m. eastern time on March 15 that the United States was bombing Houthi targets across Yemen.

I, however, knew two hours before the first bombs exploded that the attack might be coming. The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.

Schakowsky will be 82 this year and plans to run again. Abughazaleh is 26.

Abu will have the full support of the progressives in the Democratic Party.

This is a district where the primary is the election. The last time the Ninth was ‘competitive’ Schakowski took 65%… in 2014. 70is % is the norm. There has been no primary opponent other than a guy who announced and the withdrew after a couple weeks since 2014.

Lew Alcindor (now known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) made history as the only person to be named Most Outstanding Player three different times. He led the Bruins to their third consecutive national championship. Alcindor averaged 23.8 points and 16.0 rebounds per game during the 1969 NCAA tournament. He scored 37 points and grabbed 20 boards in the title game against Purdue. As of 2020, Alcindor remains the only player to be named MOP more than twice.

    NCAA PhotosUCLA’s Lew Alcindor
Lew Alcindor averaged 25.8 points and 18.8 rebounds per game in the 1968 NCAA tournament. But it was his 34-point, 16-rebound outing against North Carolina in the title game that not only solidified Alcindor’s second-straight Most Outstanding Player award, but back-to-back national championships for UCLA as well.

Are you fuckin’ kidding me? Three years in a row?

    1967: Lew Alcindor — UCLA
    NCAA archivesUCLA’s Lew Alcindor
Lew Alcindor had the highest scoring average of the 1967 NCAA tournament at 26.5 points per game. His best performance was a 38-point, 14-rebound double-double against Pacific in the regional finals. Alcindor made 13 of his 20 field-goal attempts and shot 12-for-14 from the free-throw line.

I guess you’re right. Lew Alcindor didn’t manage to do it once. Instead he killed it three years in a row.

Allentown employee planted noose on her desk, faces false report charges, police say

However, a few weeks into the investigation in late January, a Lehigh County judge approved a search warrant for Brown’s DNA. An affidavit alleged that Brown was not cooperating with the investigation, made “vague statements and gave deceptive answers” to investigators and refused to voluntarily provide a DNA sample.

According to the affidavit supporting the charges against Brown, only her DNA was found on the outside of the noose and the inner knotted portion when it was untied. DNA also had been collected from nine other employees who were identified as being on the third floor between the time Brown left the night before and when she found the noose. None was a match. Police said the other employees voluntarily gave DNA samples.

Say, who was governor of Minnesota when this was going on, anyway?

Minnesota non-profit leader convicted of pilfering $250M meant for underserved children in country’s largest COVID fraud scheme

“Aimee Bock and Salim Said took advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic to carry out a massive fraud scheme that stole money meant to feed children,” Acting US Attorney Lisa Kirkpatrick said.

“The defendants falsely claimed to have served 91 million meals, for which they fraudulently received nearly $250 million in federal funds. That money did not go to feed kids. Instead, it was used to fund their lavish lifestyles.”

Prosecutors said Bock and her 36-year-old accomplice, who owned the now-defunct Safari Restaurant, created fake meal counts, fraudulent invoices, and attendance sheets with bogus names of thousands of children supposedly served daily to secure additional funding from the US Department of Agriculture.

I’m surprised the article did not mention Ilhan Omar, whose hands are all over this, but from just enough distance so that only her donors will go to prison.

… you would have to go out of your way to take classified information and move it into an unclassified system.”

I agree. It’s what #CrookedHillary told her underlings to do. Remember when she told her State Department flunkies to strip off the classified marking and send “nonsecure”?

In one email exchange dated June 2011, Clinton instructed her top policy advisor Jacob Sullivan to send her talking points — which were scheduled to be forwarded over the State Department’s secured network — over a non-secure fax line. Sullivan reported a problem with the State Department’s secure transmission system, so Clinton told him to wipe off any “identifying heading” and send it over using a regular fax line.
    …
The State Department would not comment on whether Clinton had ordered her staff to send classified information over a nonsecure channel.

Since the State Department ordinarily treats classified materials as, you know, classified, it would have to go out of its way to walk to the nearest Kinko’s and fax it over to Queen of the Horrid Pantsuits.

I don’t think this is the “gotcha” you must think it is. #CrookedHillary’s corruption is what got you DJT45. But if you want to get into a “hostile actors” pissing match, I got James Comey at the ready.

No, but she did marry her brother, and in doing so committed immigration fraud.

By her hands all over it, she pushed for the funding:

In early 2021, two men named in recently unsealed search warrant affidavits donated a total of $5,400 to Omar’s campaign. The FBI affidavits list Ahmed Ghedi and Abdihakim Ahmed as associates of Safari Restaurant and Event Center. Both allegedly controlled shell companies that received $1.1 million in federal child nutrition money from a co-owner of Safari Restaurant. The two men separately helped two others buy a $2.8 million mansion in Minneapolis with child nutrition money to use as an office building, the FBI alleges.
    …
The expanded flexibility in federal food programs came as a result of legislation that Omar sponsored in 2020, the MEALS Act.

Almost everyone charged and convicted is Somali, and there are more to come. 70 charged, 37 pleaded guilty, 7 convictions.

A U.W. lab technician, native of Philippines, lawful permanent resident and green card holder for 54 years, was detained by ICE upon returning from an overseas trip and is in ICE’s Tacoma lockup. Why? Because she has a criminal record. Specifically, she was convicted of a “nonviolent, misdemeanor” bank embezzlement in 2001. Consequently, her arrest, detention, and pending deportation are perfectly legal.

    https://www.king5.com/article/news/community/facing-race/uw-lab-tech-us-resident-ice-custody/281-f404d578-6d65-4402-9292-586b65f7010b

Ridding our country of ex-convicts isn’t a bad idea, but let’s deport them all. Whether they’re citizens or permanent residents, practically speaking, is a distinction without a difference. It’s crime we’re concerned about. So let’s deport all the criminals and ex-convicts. By the way, Trump is an ex-convict. So are all the Jan. 6 rioters he pardoned.

Everyone should read “The Trading Game” by Gary Stevenson. He has a popular youtube channel and he’s the only one making any sense about the economy. This one is for my stalker, the doormat, liddle maxiwipe, teh aroma of Sedona:

“Well, I wasn’t making much cash, at that point, of course, but even that was coming, I could feel it. The PnL was appearing, and my thirty-six grand salary was more money than I’d ever had in my life anyway. And I was going to restaurants, which was a thing that I’d never done, and I was walking around making trades on the trading floor wearing pointy shoes and a little Bluetooth headset. What more could you want?

But more than that, more than any of that, it felt, for the first time in a long time, like I was a part of a family. And Billy and Caleb were like two separate and opposite fathers, one small and scrappy and sweary and the other huge and impossibly smooth, and Rupert and JB were the one mean and the one friendly uncle at Christmas, and Snoopy and Spengler were like my big brothers.

And in the few evenings when I went home to have dinner with my actual parents, they’d harass me for rent and they’d ask me for money to fix the car. And I did have to give them the car money, but I told my mum that I was paying the rent to my dad, and I told my dad that I was giving it to my mum, and neither of them realized that for ages, and everything felt like it was just coming together in the world.”

The report highlighted the many ways in which hackers gained access to users’ messages, such as by duping them into scanning malicious QR codes or making them click on links resembling group invitations.

    That’s the question, isn’t it?

So, it’s simple. Trump says the texts are not classified. The Secretary of Defense, the National Security Advisor, the Director of National Intelligence, the Secretary of State, they all say the texts aren’t classified.
    Okay.
Then there should be no problem whatsoever making a full unredacted transcript of the entire session public along with the names of every participant.
    Right?
If Trump is telling the truth and the conversation was unclassified and national security was not compromised by his administration, then he can crush his political opponents, completely emasculate the Democrats, and end this entire situation in one fell swoop.
He would be totally and immediately vindicated.
All he has to do is release the full transcript. Simple. He would have instant and absolute victory.
    IF he’s telling the truth.
