So it’s going to be a real challenge for MAGA to summon attack rhetoric targeting Vice President Harris that gets spread uncritically through the large audience media.

While it is certainly no indication of outcomes and of little predictive value, the one thing the Reuters/IPSOS does probably indicate is that the rapid, consensus unification to support Vice President Harris was the right move.
Obviously I did not want to see any of this. Very few of us probably did. But that was born out of a profound concern about a food fight process unfolding among twenty or so ambitious wannabes and their supporters/staff vying for the commitment of 4,000

In a practical sense, and especially in a hot combat zone, there are a surprising variety of ways that troops can obey orders in a legal and technical sense without accomplishing much of anything. Those after action reports of B52s mowing down hundreds of square miles of empty jungle did not come about because of incompetence, lack of training, or lack of capability. Inflated body counts relying on scraps of clothing, boots, or fingers are easy. Fire missions on imaginary “bunker complexes” don’t leave enough evidence one way or another. Within a year after Tet probably 25% of the front line infrantry were essentially in a quiet state of mutiny, just doing whatever it took to complete their deployment in one piece and get out. And it would grow steadily from there, just as the conscription numbers were rapidly beginning to fall and the political support for the war at home was collapsing.
And none of those guys had smart phones or TikTok.
Russian armor and infantry officers (at least the ones who aren’t in rebellion themselves) are executing Russian infantry in the field. Often enough that there is drone footage. They are welding chain link fence onto 1950s tanks and putting them into the field. It’s becomming infantry performance art.
