    It’s pretty singular and unique here that the GOP is seeking to prevent the existence of these ballots in advance of the counting. The obvious strategy involves seeking emerg injunctive relief ahead of any challenge, ordering election officials to exclude the ballots from any count, on whatever dubious grounds, and then delay proceedings until time runs out for certification. There may be some chance of this working in the very short term out of a lower state court. As we’ve seen so far, keeping these kinds of lower court orders in effect may not last as long as the GOP needs to overturn the valid results.

    But it can work as a brand-building exercise. As they’ve seen in Washington State following the Rossi defeats, this kind of tilting at democracy can become an organizing principle to energize idiots.
    Tends not to work out well in the long run, however.

    Keep people from voting if they can.
    If they can’t, try to keep votes from being counted.
    If they still lose, use gerrymandered legislatures and partisan judges to overrule the voters.

    That has turned this election into a referendum on what form of government America will have in the future, i.e., whether we will live in a democracy or under a dictatorship.

    OH: Trump by 400,000 votes.

    Trainer predicted specific margins of victory in various battleground states based on the partisan make-up of voters.

Trump won North Carolina by almost 4 points and more than 100,000 votes in 2016. Trainer predicted he would win the state by 400,000 votes on Tuesday.

    In Pennsylvania, Trainer said Democrats “have banked a ton of high-propensity voters by mail,” but Trump has “millions of voters left” for Election Day. He predicted an Election Day votes cast margin of over a million votes.

    AZ: Won’t save McSally, probs, but it won’t be close. Trump by 150,000.

    In Arizona, the Democratic partisan make-up reached plus-11.9 percent, but on Monday it was plus-1.2 percent. On Election Day in 2016, it was plus-2.5 percent. Trump won Arizona by 90,000 votes and 3.5 percentage points. Trainer predicted he would win the state by 150,000 votes on Tuesday.

    FL: Only 500,000?

    In Florida, Democrats rose to a plus-18.8 percent advantage, but on Monday that number dropped to plus-1 percent. On Election Day 2016, it was plus-1.4 percent. Trump won Florida in 2016 by just over 100,000 votes, 1 percentage point. Trainer predicted a 500,000 margin for Trump on Tuesday.

    WI: Trump by 100,000. So that 17 point lead Biden had in one poll might be a bit off.

    In Wisconsin, Democrats rose to plus-12.3 percent earlier in the voting, but on Monday they held a plus-5.9 percent advantage. On Election Day in 2016, it was plus-9.6 percent. Trump won Wisconsin by 20,000 votes and 0.8 percentage points. Trainer predicted Trump will win by over 100,000 votes on Tuesday.

    #FL 3pm update R lead now at 143.6k and increasing. When accounting for expected addons from late reporting counties, it could top 300k. Trump should win FL by 5 pts.

    Let’s say Trump takes FL by 3 points. That’s a six point swing from the polls aggregated for analysis on HA.

    Looking for post-mortem commentary about this animosity toward RCP. Mostly the arbitary exclusion of some polls or mispplication of deadlines. If the animosity is because GOP-leaning polls dropped late, that’s not on RCP.

    Visibility is not GOTV.
    I know Trump has a GOTV ground game in Florida, because it’s essentially been in place there for more than a decade and I’ve seen it. But if a TIME reporter is tagging along to Superspreader Rallies and then reporting to you that this means Trump is systematically turning out voters in other states, then TIME and your party are both misleading you.

    All across the US for the last four days, but particularly in Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona, thousands of teams made up of tens of thousands of Democratic Party volunteers have been transitioning from text-banking GOTV to in-person. By Saturday morning training (done remotely) was completed and people were being checked in, scanned for elevated temperatures and other symptoms, supplied with masks, sanitizer, and precinct maps (digital) with walking routes and sent out with lists generated from weeks of digital outreach, phone banking and text banking. It’s still going on today.

    I see the same thing by the GOP in Florida (where they’ve been doing it one way or another for years). And I’m told they have it going on in NC. But I’m not aware of it happening in any comparable fashion anywhere else. And I’ve looked hard.

    The “2.6 million volunteers” TIME reports are the number of mouth breathers who credulously downloaded Brad’s DEATHSTAR mobile phone app. The “182 million voter contacts” are the individualized contacts the app harvested from users other social media accounts and from their phone contacts. They can’t even say if these people are registered. The “174,000 new GOP voters” they claim to register is well, actually not very impressive in an election where 35 million new voters will be turning out.

    What now the word “propensity” works for you?

    As I’ve said often enough, the GOP has an historical numerical advantage in Florida. If the numbers being reported by these folks are accurate, and if those raw numbers are reflected proportionally in terms of turnout, then that numerical advantage will have gotten smaller this year.
    Ironically, propensity is key. Will these newly registered voters send in their ballots or come to the polls today? Will all of them or enough of them? As I’ve said, the GOP has a real credible ground game in Florida that can make this happen, if it’s going to happen.

    But for Trump, the GOP, and The Q Clearance Cat Lady when it comes to Florida it has to happen. Or it’s game over.
