If you’re in King County, you should be getting a ballot if you haven’t yet. It’s for the crisis centers. I hope that you will vote yes. The need is there. I would prefer we pay for these things through the normal government process, voting no won’t make the County Council take it up.

And for goodness sake, please wash your hands right now, and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

    I guess I take if for granted sometimes the advantages that I enjoy, not having to fabricate completely fictitious “FB friends in CO” in a vain, self-serving effort to “pwn the libs”. But if I stop to consider what that might mean, I still don’t think that even if I suffered from such weakness and insecurity that I would knowingly put lives at risk in this way for such reasons. As I pointed out to Roger the other day, whatever else may be said, at least we know that we’ve never knowingly put police lives at risk simply to win a dumb argument on a blog.

    But I do think this is instructive. It offers a very stark example of how “conservative” ideology has suffered an incalculable ethical collapse in the last few decades. Somehow, by some appalling internal calculus, people like the Shit-lord crybaby have concluded that killing police (and many, many others) with dangerously misleading bullshit is a “reasonable cost” in order to “win”.

    Other than my age I’m not in any type of elevated risk cohort, and age really isn’t an issue so much as the comorbidities that others in my age group, but not me, are more likely to have.
