If you’re running as a pro-life presidential candidate for the nomination of a party that has made overthrowing Roe v. Wade a moral and political litmus test, I’m guessing it’s not a good news day when a photo turns up of you attending a Planned Parenthood fundraiser.
Blue Mass Group has the photo and the details of Romney’s hypocrisy and prevarication.
Hmmmm…I guess Mitt was for killing “unborn babies” before he was against killing “unborn babies.”
George W. Bush proved that you can be a BLATANT, lying sack-of-shit and still get the Republican ‘core’ to vote for you.
Then in the general election you move toward the center and drop ‘code words’ from time-to-time to convince the retarded ‘core’ that you are still on their side (e.g., Ronald Reagan speaking about ‘states rights’ as code for blatant racism).
re 1: Is jerking-off murdering the un-conceived? If so, I’ve got a lot to answer for.
Heh. I first read that as “Pro-Whining.” Which is also appropriate!
Jesus came to save the sinners. Romney realizes now that abortion is a tremendous evil, an abomination in the sight of God.
Far better to be a repentant sinner than a blasphemous liberal…
The Republican nominee will be McCain. Hard to believe after last summer, but I think its true. So start thinking about how to run against him.
I think Repubs are not turning against Romney because he’s Mormon, except the real troglodytes, who would not have voted for him anyway. He is in a long, slow, free fall (with 911 Rudy) because he is an airblown, plastic, phony, with no core convictions that he will really stand up for. (And his “the speech” last week was the worst political speech I have seen this year- and that is saying something.)
I hope he wins the nomination because he will lead the party to an historic collapse. But I am not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

I love seeing the GOP candidates lobbing shit at each other, while the Dems keep their powder dry (at least, wrt the GOP candidates…of course, they are doing some poo-flinging at each other as well). Usually the GOP are much more disciplined, but I think the Bush mis-Presidency has put the ’08 Campaign a little off-kilter, so they are actually spending time doing opposition research on each other and dropping the bombs to the media.
Oh, I’m sure it was always thus, but when I see Newsweek stories about David Huckabee’s animal-torturing, I feel the urge to go buy some popcorn!
‘Sides, maybe he was ministering to the truly sinful (pretty much any liberal).
Re 5 and 8- perhaps you can enlighten me-
when Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple, when he said that thing about a rich person having as much chance of entering heaven as a camel going through the eye of the needle, when he says that feeding the hungry and caring for the poor is our highest calling- was he being a liberal or a conservative? Just wondering.
Merry Christmas.
Hillary Clinton Voted for Iraq before she was always against it……………..
@6
Please. McCain’s position on illegal imigration will keep him on the second tier.
@9
He was being Jesus.
What are you saying? All rich people are conservatives?
@7
Well I particularly like the “powder dry” approach of HRC campaign characterizing B.O. a cocaine dealer….drug user…
I like mine with butter and salt.
Hypocrisy is an essential attribute of any successful Republican politician.
It’s not surprising that a flip-flopping opportunist can get traction with the world’s least informed, most ignorant, and most dogmatic voters.
@15
I know, how did Hillary get so far? Did you hear what the Bill just promised?
http://politicalticker.blogs.c.....t-hillary/
Oh Bill, you been “not inhaling” again?
re 10: “Hillary Clinton Voted for Iraq before she was always against it……………..”
She’s not our candidate. She’s yours.
The Romney my friend, is blowin’ in the wind……
I don’t see how anybody can take him seriously.
@13:
You obviously have a reading comprehension deficit.
What kind of self-aggrandizing puffery is this to call yourself “Right Stuff”?
You’d think that someone claiming to ‘Right Stuff’ would occasionally be correct. Maybe I’m misreading you.
Let me see if I have this right. ‘Stuff’ is vernacular for genitals, and ‘Right’ means it hangs to the right. So you are callling yourself a flaccid, right-leaning dick?
#16,
We’re gonna need all the help we can get. If George the 1st can help then so be it. The current administration has been a train wreck.
Re 12- Perhaps I should no better than to respond, but no, I was not saying that at all. I was saying that the policies espoused by liberals do not make them anti Christian, and that liberals are not per se sinners. Jesus was in today’s parlance, a social progressive who was far more radical than any democratic candidate. So I did not like being cast as truly sinful by virtue of being a liberal progressive.
Actually, while not rich, I am very fortunate. But I also happen to espouse public policies that I consider to be more Christian than the focus on crony capitalism, the looting of federal treasury by repub supporters like so much pirate booty, and tax breaks and an economic system by and for the rich like todays Repub party does. As I am sure you know, so do many people who are personally very wealthy, especially in our region. So, no not all wealthy people are conservative.
BTW, my father was an old fashioned Republican populist with a strong libertarian bent, who was once Chair of the King Co repubs and pres of the Young repubs. There is no room for his type at the Repub inn any more. He must be rolling over in his grave.

Oh Racist Lucy……
Think Wolfe
And we all know your politics are left of Lenin, so it comes of little suprise to see you type that HRC is the candidate of the R’s….
@22
I would not characterize liberals as sinners either.
Before you claim some progressive higher ground with regard to federal treasury and tax breaks, take a look at the recent budget earmarks….Also, those tax income tax cuts affect everyone. It is not correct to characterize tax cuts only for “the rich” when the IRS data shows completely the opposite.
http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-soi/04in06tr.xls
see USA Today for Earmark coverage or Google “tax payers for common sense”
Romney’s opinions have”evolved”. Try explaining that to Huckabee.
9 Jesus was being a subversive. Why do you think they crucified him?
20 I’m sure Right Stuff thinks of himself as more….upstanding!
24 We’re all sinners on this bus, pardner.
You betcha those tax cuts affect everyone. Done in combination with massive spending on military pork, the result is that inflation is eating us all alive.
@24:
Bush’s tax cuts affect the rich the most. It is the upper 2% that are benefitting the most. Bush made sure that he got tax cuts for the richest oil companies too.
Remember – us regular people have to pay SS tax too – and the rich are “exempt”.
It is about time the rich people and corporations started paying more. Jesus would look at our current tax system in horror – at the low percentages paid by the rich and the corporations compared to the poor. One of the richest nations on earth cannot feed it’s own hungry – but can spend trillions attacking a nation that was not a threat to us….and giving tax breaks to oil companies and their obscene profits.
What is it about presidential candidates from Massachusetts that makes them so prone to flip-flopping? Between Kerry and Romney, I think I have a pair of sandals missing from my closet…..

Amen. Once the tyrant is out of office, he should be put on trial as a war-profiteer as well as a war criminal. Of course, he’ll flee to Paraguay before that happens, so we can just confiscate his assets instead.
Here is a great quote – from a republican who served time for illegal republican campaigning in NH – and now regrets it:
“After 10 full years inside the GOP, 90 days among honest criminals wasn’t really any great ordeal.”
Allen Raymond
Republicans are corrupt and inept. We need to keep repeating the basic truths of the past 7 years of Bushco.
