You just can’t keep a good tradition down, or even a bad one, for that matter. Where would retailers be without consumers going head-over-heels in debt to clear their shelves of “stuff”? Birthday of Jesus? Who’s he? Christmas is about jingling cash registers. That’s why the war against Christmas is so threatening and calls for a nuclear response.
Deficits are the fiscal gimmickry Republicans use to pay for tax cuts for the rich, and the political fakery they use to cut entitlements and social programs for the poor and middle class.

Roger Rabbit Commentary: The scam works like this: First they run up huge deficits by slashing taxes, but only for the uber-wealthy, and then they bleat that we must slash entitlements and social spending because we’re facing ruinous deficits. And while this is going on, they’re increasing military spending and slipping corporate welfare into the defense bills. Then a paid writer in a Beltway think tank drafts the talking points needed to sell this dog poop to the ignorant masses, which are then forwarded to gullible minions like Bickle and Puddy who are willing to work for free posting it on blogs like this one.
These alleged “Ayn Rand Christmas cards” are so bad, it’s hard for me to believe this isn’t a hoax, even though they accurately express conservatives philosophy.

Are the quotes on the “Ayn Rand Christmas cards” real? They seem to be from some handbook on how to be evil.

I’m not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg.
But oreidley and the lady kind of argued how offensive it was/is and that it wouldn’t be allowed to let the KKK demonstrate on MLK day, butt apparently it is ok for everyday to be bash the gays say and not speak out against people calling for God hates Fags. That is perfectly legit!
And the lady’s last comment, that we are more tolerant of the warriors of Christmas, oh yes we are, tolerant of the gay haters.
Anytime you need to shut up anyone of these jerks that’s all you have to do – bring up God hates Fags.
Lot of hot air there from old Bill. It’s just unusual that our government officials do the right thing in this area. It’s not a new argument. Maybe the local Satanists should apply for a display next Christmas so you got time to organize with them Goldy for next year.
Most of the points Bill make is just hot air. There have been KKK protests on MLK’ s birthday. There have been protestors in front of the White House during the Easter Egg hunt. Which is distinctly secular, and any religious overtones are those associated with certain pagan fertility rites.
Same thing with the Christmas tree and yule log is that they are from pagan traditions and adopted by some Christians. Some Christians won’t have them in their homes. The carol “The Holly and the Ivy” is really a song about pagan winter fertility rites. So the war on Christmas has gone on for a very long time and well the pagans are doing pretty well. The first victory was when Christ’s birthday was rescheduled to another date that happened to be a Roman holiday with gifts and other fun stuff.
Remember there is no victory in this war, but it sure gets ORielly’s dander up and that is victory enough.
