Guess I shoulda posted this soon but there’s a May Day march today, rallying in support of humane immigration reform. It starts at the Judkins Park Playfield at noon, and marches to Memorial Stadium. Come show your outrage at Arizona’s anti-American new immigration law, and to demand that Congress take up the issue.

The problem is that the countries of Latin America are pretty much governed by land-grant families that trace their ancestry back to Spain. Those families view themselves as superior to the ordinary indigenous populace and love to lord it over the “lesser” people. In short, they are elitist dicks of the worst kind, and they’re not going to change without a violent revolution.
What needs to happen in Mexico and all of Latin America is for the people to finally throw-off Spanish imperialism. I don’t see that happening without a bloody revolution. As long as we let them settle their own problems and stay out of their business, we will be better off in the long run.
True story time: My grandfather came to this country when he was 13 or 14. He was an illegal alien. He worked hard all of his life, paid taxes raised a family. 4 of his sons fought, for this country, in WWII, one of them died. His grandchildren/great grandchildren have fought in Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War one and two. None of them have served time in Jail. This is what makes America great. Please explain why you would want to keep people like this out of this country. Unless, of course you hate America.

“Police spokesman Zach Friend says that when a crowd of about 250 people started marching through downtown around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, some demonstrators started breaking windows and spraying paint on retail shops.
Friend says 18 businesses were damaged, with the cost of repairs estimated to be between $50,000 to $100,000. No injuries were reported.”
