Anybody else notice a pattern here?
On October 14, a man was arrested for threatening Patty Murray supporters with a meat cleaver outside a debate in Spokane. Four days later, a man was arrested outside Walla Walla County Republican headquarters for assaulting a young woman who was protesting Dino Rossi, hitting her with “force.” And just a few days ago, a man was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for threatening to kill Sen. Murray.
Which begs the question: if this how the Teahadists are behaving before the election, how the hell are they going to react after Rossi loses?
Roger Rabbit spews:
And then there’s that Republican congressional candidate in Texas who said in a TV interview that armed overthrow of our government should be “on the table” if the Teahadists don’t succeed in seizing control of our government at the ballot box.
Michael spews:
You mean beyond the trend that in all these places their local paper endorsed Murray?
Michael spews:
Seems to me that political violence happens every 40-50 years or so. We’re probably do for another wave of it.
YLB spews:
The teahadists smell blood..
As if their brainwashing isn’t bad enough they’re a bunch of Kochheads to boot.
Politically Incorrect spews:
It will be interesting to see what happens on November 2. I think the Republicans will take control of the House but not the Senate.
That’s fine by me – a divided government can do less harm.
Chris spews:
And why did you not hear about Dems doing the same 8 years ago?
Liberal Scientist spews:
I got called out (somewhat appropriately) by lost over the weekend for characterizing all conservatives for being tolerant of violence.
However, I never got an answer from him, or any of our other right-wingers, as to why they thought that ALL (as far as I can tell) the contemporary political violence comes from the right. It’s people on their side brandishing guns as presidential rallies, waving meat cleavers at their opponants, blowing up federal buildings, relentlessly using elimintionist rhetoric. Beck and the Tides Foundation and the nutjob that started the shootout on the way to the (planned) massacre.
Why is it not OK to discuss, and condemn, this sort of behavior? And this is directed to lost and Puddy and Cynical and the rest of them: why do you guys not condemn this bullshit. Moreover, why do you think this is a feature of your side of the debate in this country?
One could be quite accurate in taking the reprehensible statement of a FOX talking head when he said, “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslims,” and changing it to: “Not all conservatives are violent, but all violent political behavior is coming from the conservative camp.”
Michael spews:
@6
There’s no equivalency between what went on on the left and what’s going on on the right and your whine about some alleged wrong that happened years ago changes and absolves nothing.
Daddy Love spews:
Anybody else notice a pattern here?
Um, Republicans are all angry old white men?
Daddy Love spews:
3 Michael
You mean like bombing a federal building? That happened almost 18 years ago. What was in common? Democrat in the White House.
Mr. Cynical spews:
Goldy–
You sound a lot paranoid and SCARED!
How does any of this have anything to do with patty Murray’s voting record & qualifications?
After all, Murray is a full-fledged PE Grad from Eastern Wa. who was a pre-school teacher for a year or so and taught one Community College Class on Parenting. Certainly that must qualify her in your alleged mind to wade thru the ObamaCare 2000-page bill. Right?
Deflections & sideshows.
My concern is precisely how did she vote…and how would Rossi have voted on key issues.
Proud To Be An Ass spews:
@7: “Why is it not OK to discuss, and condemn, this sort of behavior?”
The answer is simple. You have not grovelled long enough or abjectly enough to atone for the sins of Bill Ayers or Ward Churchill. Be forwarned, however, there is no amount of grovelling that will inspire them to similarly condemn, say, murdering doctors in cold blood, or engaging in systematic and organized state torture.
After all, the proprieties must be maintained.
Zotz sez: GOTV! spews:
In an economy that’s shitty and likely to be so for most of us — basically forever (in human terms): this is a very bad old movie.
Franco and Mussolini depended on what amounted to “Corporate Citizens Councils” and their “militia” paramilitaries — basically organized thugs and well-meaning zealots — to take and keep power.
It is important to remeber that fascism, acording to Mussolini: “…is more properly called corporatism as it is the merger of state and corporate power.”
History repeated or rhymed, take your pick: Teahadists and corporate money and power = fascism — complete with flags and crosses.
Liberal Scientist spews:
Isn’t that the point of right-wing violence?
Broadway Joe spews:
Like Cynny has the balls to actually do anything…..
Steve spews:
Stupid KLOWN sez, “How does any of this have anything to do with patty Murray’s voting record & qualifications?”
And yet the KLOWN thinks that Christine O’Donnell is qualified to be a senator.
Mr. Cynical spews:
Steve @ 16–
I never said that Steve.
She is just a bit more qualified than Patty Murray…that’s all.
But the point is, I know how both of them will vote on issues.
Patty is an ImamObaMao robot.
Ann Onnymous spews:
‘Teahadists.’
:-)
Michael spews:
@10
I seem to have forgotten about a whole wave of violence in the 1990’s. Must have been in my happy place this morning.
Michael spews:
@11
I take it you’re Afraid to discuss right wing political violence?
Ekim spews:
Being a
witchsatanist makes her more qualified?Hmmm… From the far reich view point, you’re probably right.
tienle spews:
ooops
Darryl spews:
Mr. Cynical,
“She is just a bit more qualified than Patty Murray…that’s all.”
WHAT THE FUCK????? Are you on drugs, Cynical?
Wait…could it be someone has put you under some sort of hex or spell make you spew such absurd nonsense?!?
YLB spews:
Mr. Klynical is a Kochhead.
High on Koch! I love it.
Steve spews:
“She is just a bit more qualified than Patty Murray…that’s all.”
I knew he’d say something stupid. He always does.
Montanto spews:
“She is just a bit more qualified than Patty Murray…that’s all.”
Cynical…
I realize it’s always embarrassing to have to admit something is a lost cause, but come on. Do yourself a favor and stick to supporting smart conservatives. It’ll help you maintain that illusion of intelligence.
don spews:
Qualified? Anyone who claims that scientists have bred mice with human brains is not qualified to be out in public, let alone a US Senator. Of course, the crazies always look out for their own.
Bill spews:
They should just pour their energy into Dino’s 2012 challenge to Cantwell.
Steve spews:
Too bad they can’t come up with a human brain for Klynical.
Puddybud identifying useless Moonbat!s since 2005 and identifying rujax as an arschloch! spews:
Yeah by some who said “Science is my Religion”.
“Science is my Religion”, sounds like most HA progressive libtardos here.
Michael spews:
@26
Cyn’s never failed at backing losers. That’s why we love him. ;->
Michael spews:
@30
But, McVeigh was a member of the political far right, a member of a militia, a gun fetishist, and was trying to strike a blow at what he saw as a tyrannical federal government. So he fits right in with the rest of the crowd that we’re talking about.
why do liberals hate free speech? spews:
Ruby Ridge…Waco….nope, no tyrannical govt here….
Michael spews:
@33
1. I saw an interview with Bill Clinton where he was asked what his biggest mistake in office was, without a seconds hesitation he answered “Waco.” He went on to explain that he’d dealt with Waco type situations as governor and was able to resolve them without getting anyone killed. You could tell that even after leaving office Waco still really bothered him. Waco and Ruby Ridge were fuckups. Everyone involved believes that. That’s not tyranny, that’s a fuckup.
2. Are you saying that McVeigh was right in thinking what he thought and doing what he did?
Michael spews:
@33
My post at @32 is really just countering this nutty idea that Puddy likes to throw out that McVeigh was a member of the left. It’s so stupid and obtuse of an idea that I don’t know why I bother refuting it.
MikeBoyScout spews:
Hey, here’s something new!
Look! Rand Paul Supporter Stomps Head Of Female MoveOn Member Outside KY Debate (Video)
Silly guy. He should have had a cleaver.
Mr. Cynical spews:
31. Michael spews:
Let’s have a little Chat about that on November 3rd…and after the 2012 elections.
correctnotright spews:
@35: Puddy will defend to the death the right of right wingers to be terrorists and try to deflect the blame away from the people he supports.
Yup, the old lynchers in the South, the white supremacists, the tea party hacks – many of them come from the same cloth – that Puddy supports.
Keep making excuses for your right wing buddies Puddy – they are the ones that lynched blacks in the south and blew up the Federal building – you know – the I hate government types.
correctnotright spews:
@37 Yeah, just like the chat we had after the elections in 2008 and republicans lost the house, the senate and the Presidency.
By 2012 – when it becomes clear the republicans have no plan and are lying again and just want to obstruct and make things worse – then we will have another Bill clinton landslide type of effect.
