This administration is still depressing as all hell. But! For the first time in a long time, I see maybe something. Being with 10000 people who oppose kidnapping children. I would probably feel better if my country wasn’t stealing children from their families, but I saw a little something.

    As The Republican Presidential Campaign Manager continues to prepare for his multiple upcoming criminal trials, and as both the scope of the investigation and the scope of the indictments continues to widen (The Hill notwithstanding) something rather interesting continues to come up.

    Did you know you could use an iPod for very* secure communications? I never went in for iPods during the Millennial craze, and I’ve never been an Apple fanboy, so don’t really know much about them. But oddly enough, The Republican Presidential Campaign Manager is rather obsessed with the damn things. According to details of the search warrants for his home and office the FBI seized at least eight of the damn things. That seems like a lot for a Millennial. It seems suspicious for a guy pushing 70.

    And those eight iPods are an enduring obsession of the Republican Presidential Campaign Manager’s legal team. They have challenged the scope of the search warrants with respect to those eight devices in no less than five pre-trial motions so far. We know The Republican Presidential Campaign Manager attended and took notes of the June 9th meeting in Trump Tower to obtain campaign assistance from Russian spies. Did he record the meeting on an iPod? Did he message someone about the meeting?

    That’s a fuckuvalot of iPods for a guy born before the 1950s to be dragging around just to listen to his collection of Bobby Vinton recordings.

    *since they lack a SIM card and baseband radios, iPod messaging eludes most routine PRISM captures.

Does separating children from their parents who are coming across the illegally effectively discourage this behavior. It is not at all likely that Congress is going to change the immigration laws to state coming across the border is not a crime.
