    SACRAMENTO — The owner of a firm that the California Republican Party hired to register tens of thousands of voters this year was arrested in Ontario late last night on suspicion of voter registration fraud.

    State and local investigators allege that Mark Jacoby fraudulently registered himself to vote at a childhood California address where he no longer lives so he would appear to meet the legal requirement that signature gatherers be eligible to vote in California.

    Jacoby’s arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department comes after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by his firm, Young Political Majors, or YPM. The voters said YPM tricked them by saying they were signing a petition to toughen penalties against child molesters. The firm was paid $7 to $12 for every Californian it registered as a member of the GOP.

    So wingnuts, when are you going to scream about this? Can’t wait to hear Cyniclown and Marvin excuse this.

    When it comes to campaigning, McCain isn’t much of a maverick, is he? His is a campaign based on lies and vote suppression helped along courtesy of the Bush’s Liberty University DOJ.     A man with a deep interest in education, Mr. Annenberg founded The Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania in 1958 and The Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California in 1971. In 1983, he established the Washington Program in Communications Policy Studies in response to growing awareness that difficult government and industry problems were emerging in the rapidly changing telecommunications field.

    He served as Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s, Great Britain, from 1969 to 1974. By the late 1980’s, having sold all of his publishing and broadcast enterprises, Ambassador Annenberg devoted his attention to philanthropy and public service.

    He was appointed by NIXON – a republican – to be ambassador. It is a freakin’ educational foundation started by a republican that Obama sat on the board for. Ayers was also on the board – maybe you want to ask the prestigious foundation why they associated with “terrorists”. That is the terrible “association”. You guys got nothin’ and all you can do is drum up inconsequential crap. That is why Colin Powell has repudiated McCain. Because this is third grade politics – nananananah, you sat on a board with a bad guy….

    Chris rocked. Her introductory speech really impressed me. She is much more real and folksy than the reputation given her as a policy wonk. She connected well with the crowd and showed she cares and is committed to continuing the change we need to improve our state.
