Former WA-08 congresswoman Jennifer Dunn died suddenly this morning of a pulmonary embolism. She was only 66.

which is no big deal; no congressman lives in his district. They all live in Washington, D.C., many of them in the same apartment complex, where they take turns fucking the community goat.
But, you know Republicans, they need something to lie about just to stay in practice; so Gillmor was lying to his constituents about where he lived. Why didn’t he tell the truth, and say he lived in Washington, D.C., and visited Ohio once in a while so he wouldn’t forget what it looked like, which everyone already knew? Sometimes it seems Republicans lie simply for the sake of lying.
Memorize this phrase: A trust-like entity that is not a trust.
It rings so … Clintonian. And from a Republican yet! It’s right up there with “what the meaning of ‘is’ is.” I think these guys are all secret admirers of Bubba, because he’s devious after their own hearts.

In the span of a short couple of weeks Washington State has lost two powerful women that ruled the politics in the state for over a decade and were powerful voices in the decade plus following.
Just as I asked before, please don’t speak ill of the dead. No matter which side of the aisle, to do so shows bad manners. Leave such displays of poor taste to the Republicans. Even @2 Roger Rabbit (no offense :) ) understands that there are ways to make statements and feelings known while still speaking well of the dead. If you must post, please follow his lead.

Of course, one small reason that Jennifer Dunn and Slade Gorton looked alike was because they were cousins.
I didn’t wish her dead, but I wished her out of Congress many times. We’ll finish the job of replacing her with a Democrat next year.
It used to be that politicians didn’t do much to question the other’s residency (or personal conduct, for that matter), because there was plenty of mud to throw at both sides on those issues.
The fallout on the personal attacks is well known. Republicans financed lawsuits against Clinton for personal conduct, then impeach him based on depositions in that lawsuit. Now several leading Republicans, most notably Craig, have found their personal lives were not as “private” as they first thought.
But it also appears that with the availability of the internet, the average citizen can check on the residency of their personal representatives, and compare it with the district boundaries. A number of local politicians, across the country, are being caught when their “legal residency” for electoral purposes contrasts considerably with where they spend their nights, where they receive most of their mail, other legal filings, etc. For example, a local politician in Chattanooga ostensibly had rented a “mother-in-law” apartment from a campaign supporter (the rent was payment of $8 per month in utility bills). Her residency is being challenged, and her aspirations of becoming Mayor of Chattanooga, and possibly moving on to national office, are diminishing rapidly. (Of course, it didn’t help that she had business cards printed which had her City Council position on one side, and her real estate business on the other).

She was a hack as Washington State Republican Party Chair, and she became even more so as Representative from WA-08: she parroted the Bush (& Reagan) lines, she produced no meaningful legislation (Oh, yeah, they did give her the law about missing girls), and she became increasingly isolated from her constituents with each term.
Pretty-Boy Reichert follows in this glorious GOP tradition, but Darcy Burner will burn his a** in the next election — she’s already ahead with 44% to Reichert’s 38%.

So its not just that smug arrogant asshole piece of shit GBS that is 100% void of class. It is you too.
Lets see. The regular HA posters weren’t saying anything bad about Ms. Dunn, but simply expressing condolences.
So, someone that has never posted here before puts up a snarky comment supposedly from the liberal side, and Mark gets to comment.
Can you say “sock puppet” boys and girls? I knew you could.
Ms. Dunn, while holding views and opinions that were often different from mine, appeared to be an honest person, trying to represent her constituents and do what she thought best for the country.
It is possible to oppose such a person while still admiring them. Her death is a loss to all of us, and my condolences to her family and friends.
Karen And Jennifer knew that they would get a rip here and there on opposing blogs after there death. I don’t think they lost any sleep over it.
