The format of the Veep debate is pretty lame. Palin will answer each of Ifill’s questions with those useless McSame campaign talking points for which she’s been coached.
I’ll tune in but I doubt I’ll last beyond 10 minutes.
I predict another close one on points but a further erosion of McSame’s standing in the polls due to the utter vapidity of his running mate.

The Senate has passed the bailout bill 74-25; Murray voted yes, Cantwell voted no.
Does anyone know if any polling has been done to show if there’s a direct correlation between the swing states moving toward Obama and concern over Palin?

This thread is about Palin and her qualifications to be president. If you want to look up the 194 bills sponsored by Obama, his work on nuclear proliferation, his health care plan that can cover everyone, the fact he went to Harvard Law school and was the first black editor of the Harvard review and the fact he is on the Senate Foreign relations committee – then go ahead.
This thread is focusing on Palin and the fact that she is woefully unqualified to be president. It shows the poor judgement of McCain. Also, McCain keeps repeating that he has “the facts” on the lying campaign ad about Obama and sex-ed for kids. Fact check dot org has clearly labeled the ad false and misleading. The bill was to help kids identify pedophiles and McCain is lying about it and criticizing Obama. Even McCain supporters said he must not be aware of how bad the ad lies. But McCain defended that ad twice in the last two days – on NPR and to the Iowa register editorial board. So he is either truly ignorant of his own lying ad or he is lying about it again. Also, McCain defended his choice of Palin as the “most qualified” person.
Today, Palin can’t name another Supreme Court decision, she can’t name a newspaper she reads, she doesn’t know that Hamas was elected democratically in Gaza or what Hamas is. She gives canned answers that make absolutely no sense like Putin’s head over alaska or she supports democratically elected governments everywhere and talks about Hamas and Iran as if they were not elected. She is hopelessly over her head and does not even have a working knowledge of the basic facts about the economy, the world or even the Bush doctrine. Palin agreed with Obama and contradicted McCain on Pakistan and did not even know it. She would be a disaster if she ever became president. Compared to Hillary Clinton, she has NO knowledge of the important aspects of government. She could not name a Supreme court decision besides Roe – not ANY. I mean – did she not take US government class in high school?
Is this the best republicans can do? She claims to be Joe six pack and she is worth over 1 million. Nothing she has said about the bridge to nowhere, earmarks, reform of government, the ethics investigation against her have been wholly truthful. Serial lies, poor preparation and a severe lack of the adequate knowledge to run for VP and possibly be president.

@32: It doesn’t matter who the debate moderator is because there are no follow up questions – so this is not a real debate.
The McCain team argued strongly for this format to protect Palin. Heck, McCain could be the moderator for the debate and it still would not help Palin give anything but memorized canned answers. Any question that asks what Palin knows about how government works, the supreme court, foreign policy or the economy is a potential land mine. If all the questions were about skinning a moose and field dressing it – then Palin might shine.
She has already shown an enormous lack of knowledge and huge yawning gaps in the basics of US government and foreign policy. My teenager knows more about those topics and speaks better of the cuff than Palin. If I were still a republican, I would be embarassed.
In fact, I am embarassed I was ever a republicn and believed the lies about fiscal responsibility and the “free Market”. The free market has just gone down the rabbit hole. I want government regulation and I want it NOW. I want sanity restored and I want to stop wasting money in Iraq. That was 1 trillion we could have used to fix this country. Over 4,000 dead for no reason – it boggles the mind how a true conservative could ever support that.
So the truth comes out that the moderator of the veep debate and author of an obama book didn’t tell the mcsame people.
When authors know the obama team needs extra help you know obama is in trouble.
