For once this novel makes some sense.

Reads like a Trump biography.

Scientists say they have recently discovered we are ten times less significant than we already were. Will wonders never cease?

You can’t reap iniquity. Iniquity grows underground, like potatoes. You have to dig iniquity up, and wash the dirt off of it.

@1 – Actually, what I was talking about in that verse was my prediction of what was going to happen once the progressive era began over 100 years ago.
Tuns out I was right.

@3 check out last Sunday’s 60 Minutes piece on AI. In another 30 years there will be no need for Humans.

@6 actually. If you love your $7.25 wage you should show everyone how much you like it by making a 5% pay cut so everyone else can have cheaper goods.

My we are all so fast to use this passage in ways that simply are not applicable. If we were all Jewish and lived in Israel and were of one of the more religious parties then it maybe applicable. Though I think not since Israel today is a modern secular state, therefore anyone wanting to pose today’s Israel as a prelude to the end times has a major problem as long as Israel remains a secular state.
To apply a book that is about Israel and ancient Israel and the inhabitants who were mostly Jewish of one type or another to todays American politics is wrong whether one is a religious Christian right wing nut, Catholic or progressive looking for a little dig at the opposition. Using Hosea might not be your best choice as this prophet married a whore and was a manly man with her, and his treatment of her and other women would make many a man blush or turn aside their gaze, You can’t use an example that engages in the behaviors your candidate is trying to castigate her opposition. The current politics is a really good example of the different way women and men fight. It’s fraught with blowback and grief in the real world. As the United States does not exist in a vacuum.
The majority of our previous presidents were not choir boys. Sure few of them would state as General Patton did: “A soldier who won’t fuck, won’t fight.” We have had one President who was getting a blow job under the desk when the first lady walked in, and was not caught. This President was not President Clinton. We have had one or more presidents with illegitimate children, and that was a major issue in one election. The man raised and put the child through college, but never publicly acknowledged having fathered the child. Some people thought at the time that sort of thing made the man ineligible to be President. It didn’t. Many of the things said about Trump are horrible and deplorable, but they don’t make him ineligible to be President, as being married to Bill Clinton doesn’t make Hilliary ineligible. (Maybe it should as it seems last time didn’t they say they were like a semi co president, seems a way around the two term limit I disagree with, but we let that into the constitution. If we really wanted to give Bill Clinton a third term then couldn’t we just have elected him to the office, and not had the mechanizations of Hilliary Clinton pursuing the office.)
