Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.

Genesis as a great work of fiction, I don’t know how anybody can read that part of the “good book” without laughing their ass off at the content and causing them to question the validity of the rest of the books.

This story is myth. It may have a kernel of truth as incest is not unknown in the world. The bible also has the myth of Abraham being commanded by God to sacrifice his son, this maybe more about Judaism following a different path than other religions in the region that practiced sacrifice. In the Illiad there is a human sacrifice to the gods. So it was not entirely unusual.
Now the Pharonic class of Egypt practiced incest, and it was not unusual for Greek families with property to practice incest, particularly in the hinterlands. So incest of the type the story describes would not be unknown, and nothing much would have been said about it, maybe oops we didn’t know your village was a three or four hour walk away.
Such behavior would not be unknown among the Polynesian islands, either. And it was a quietly said snub against families with bomb shelters about where the grand children would come from. And that is why the old man with the cute daughter put it in. Had it happened or should it happen and they believe they are it, is it wrong that they procreate through incest? Incest does happen, and certainly there is an issue of unequal power if it’s between an adult and a child. Still it’s not at all been unusual that societies have okaed such relationships. It’s not at all likely that Solomon’s wives and concubines started out as 60 year old virgins.
Generally societies in the past and today want young women to get pregnant as that means the species continues, people with children tend to be productive members of society, new tax payers, ect. For good reasons we have prohibitions bout incest, but it’s always a sticky subject as we may take the prohibition too far. And it’s often not the hillbillies that practice it, but the elite of society that practices it at least in a limited way. Making hard to marry into the upper class, and over times that upper class developing certain diseases generally absent from the lower classes.
So if Donald’s daughter should be in the White House one night and find Donald about to order a nuclear strike, maybe there is something she can do to avert catastrophe, and maybe she will take one for the rest of us. Definitely an instance where I whole heartedly support incest.

@15 Hopefully the defendants attorneys will appeal and the US Supreme court will remind the courts of Louisiana the operative word was lawyer which should have stopped further interrogation until a lawyer (dog or not) was present. That any subsequent confession is fruit of the forbidden tree, and is forbidden.
