    Of course, most religionists don’t understand the distinction between imaginary friends and real ones. Thats why they’ll beat their kids senseless for having an imaginary friend or throw them out of the house at 12 years old because they got tired of the minister fucking them up the ass every Sunday and decided that church was an unpleasant place. I know a few people that went through exactly that.

    Thats why they’ll fawn over and gibber about that wonderful Minister who drives a $100,000 Mercedes Benz and lives in a 20,000 square foot house then turn around and ostracize anyone who questions why they need to plunk a $100 bill in the collection plate at every service.

    Well this is terrifying – in Louisiana (of course) they’re eviscerating the public school budgets to transfer the money to pay for vouchers that the yahoos will use to pay for Christianist schools. Schools that use textbooks from Bob Jones University Press, among other citadels of knowledge.
    Among the stuff being taught to those poor children down there, using public money:

    – Only ten percent of Africans can read or write, because Christian mission schools have been shut down by communists.

    – “the [Ku Klux] Klan in some areas of the country tried to be a means of reform, fighting the decline in morality and using the symbol of the cross… In some communities it achieved a certain respectability as it worked with politicians.”

    – “God used the ‘Trail of Tears’ to bring many Indians to Christ.”

    – It “cannot be shown scientifically that that man-made pollutants will one day drastically reduce the depth of the atmosphere’s ozone layer.”

    – “God has provided certain ‘checks and balances’ in creation to prevent many of the global upsets that have been predicted by environmentalists.”

    – the Great Depression was exaggerated by propagandists, including John Steinbeck, to advance a socialist agenda.

    – “Unions have always been plagued by socialists and anarchists who use laborers to destroy the free-enterprise system that hardworking Americans have created.”

    – Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential win was due to an imaginary economic crisis created by the media.

    Why not present the entire Psalm rather than 1 verse? The Atheists at HA have some very, very bad habits about taking things out of context and understanding that the Old Testament is both Historical and God’s Law….and the New Testament is about God’s Grace. It needs to be taken in it’s entirety rather than cherry-picking. BUT, God-hating Atheists cannot or will not understand that, will they.
