Gov. Chris Gregoire is up on Daily Kos again with another diary, this time exposing to a national audience cozy relationship between Dino Rossi and his Orca-killing buddies at the BIAW: “Obama and all Democrats face attacks from all directions.”
Each election year, we see more ads from these groups, generally negative attacks, and I have a feeling that 2008 is going to set records. It’s a safe bet that John McCain’s campaign, unable to compete with Sen. Barack Obama’s broad, grassroots support, will receive millions in support from 527 groups in this election.
In Washington state, my Republican opponent has already given the green light to his special interest friends. The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) is the most powerful special interest lobby in Washington. Despite their benign name, the BIAW’s tactics and policies are anything but.
The BIAW’s values don’t match up with the voters of Washington. As you can see here, here, and here, local bloggers agree. The BIAW has opposed cleaning up toxics in the Puget Sound, opposed fighting global warming and even opposed protecting orca whales. My opponent voted with them 99% of the time while he was a State Senator.
This special interest lobby is my opponent’s biggest backer, and has already spent spent $500,000 on radio attack ads that distort my record, and challenge my integrity as a governor and a mother – and it’s only June.
Please read the whole thing and take the time to recommend Gov. Gregoire’s diary; the longer we keep this in the recommended list, the louder her message.

Republican opponent? I thought Dino prefered the “GOP” party?
One thing is for sure. You won’t find the word “Republican” anywhere on the front page of Dino’s website.
I wonder why?
I was just over at Dino’s website – he’s doing it “for the children”. How endearing. Cue the music. The bright sunny lighting, the muted, soft-focus colors. I see another real estate TV ad coming.
Roger Rabbit spews:
The fact GOPers have been reduced to a Robert Mugabe strategy isn’t altogether a bad thing. Yes, it will be unpleasant and we’ll take some casualties, but it shows their backs are to the wall. This is their desperate last stand. This is the wingfuckers’ Little Bighorn.
The Real Mark spews:
Instead of sending money, it would seem that sending boxes of Kleenex to Gregoire would be more useful.
Isn’t it interesting to see that she is forced to go out of state for her support? Anyone that lives here is already fed up with her, the increased spending and the increased taxes.
YLB spews:
Now here’s a website about Rossi that actually has the word “Republican” on it.
http://www.therealdinorossi2008.com/
Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican, Republican…
Nice ring to it, eh Dino?
That website’s a crackup. It’s “heckuvajob” Dino. I love Dino morphing into Shrubya.
Mark1 spews:
The irony of the illegitimate Queen whining about “special interests” is entertaining to say the least. Anyone ask her how her $650K campaign contributions that she was oh-so- unaware of is doing? Though not. Bitch is a two headed-snake.
ArtFart spews:
Herein’s a big, fat clue as to why Obama has chosen to skip the public-funding route. McCain will be out there playing all noble, while Richard Mellon Scaife and his ilk pour millions through 527’s into the largest media smear campaign in history.
Steve spews:
@5 I see that you’re still whining about the 2004 election. And now you’re whining about Gregoire’s campaign contributions. What is it with you commie-fascists and your constant whining? Do you really think whining is going to win you elections?
Steve spews:
@3 Sorry, I didn’t mean to leave you out. Yes, you’re a whiner too – obviously a common trait with you commie-fascists.
SeattleJew spews:
A POX on both houses.
Gregoire’s campaign reord is hardly clean. Rather than throwing accolades her way, perhaps som eone should tell us injuns where to look for evidence that SHE has been bemudded by the Rossi crew.
As for McC, BHO is doing a very smart thing. mining the waters between here and November before any swiftboats appear. OTOH. thgere is something very distasteful in Gergoires false implication that 527 groups supporting McCain are somehow less ethical than those of use who contribute regularly to the Obama fund.
One reason I am a long time Obamite is that I am proud of the way he deflected mud in the primaries without throwing it back. Gregoire could learn a lot from the Obama campaign!
While I am at it, why doesn’t Gregoire clone the Obamist fund raising paradigm? How impressive it would be if SHE denied the eed to take funds from PACs, etc!
The Real Mark spews:
SJ @ 9
Obama can take the high road because Obama has the benefit of people like MoveOn.org to sling the mud for him. And while McCain denounces ads like the one in North Carolina, Obama is silent when MoveOn.org slimes McCain or even General Petraeus.
Here’s your real Audacity: Why does Obama denounce lobbyist, special interest and PAC support when he gets multi-millions in individual donations from employees of said firms and campaign support from PACs like MoveOn.org?
rhp6033 spews:
From past posts, it is obvious that Mark has problems with women in anything less than subordinate roles. He stated himself, in one of his recent rants, that he agrees with the BIAW leadership who write that anyone who has any concerns regarding environmental issues is the equivilent of a Nazi.
(By the way, Mark, your comments went over real well at the neighborhood picnic on Saturday. Out of perhaps fourteen families attending, six were pretty much confirmed Republicans going into the picnic. But after I passed out print-outs of your rantings, as well as those of Cynical, only two remained confirmed Republicans by the end of the picnic.)
rhp6033 spews:
The reason for Obama rejecting public financing isn’t really important. We know that if the situation were reversed, and McCain had as broad a contributor base as Obama has, he wouldn’t hesitate for a minute.
Of course, McCain has already said he’s in the public financing system when he needed to be in it to secure a loan for the primaries, then he says he’s out of the system after he secures the nomination when he wants to spend unlimited money for the five months up to the convention, and then he wants back into it for the final 2-1/2 months to the general election.
Obama would be a fool to handcuff himself with public financing when the other side is playing such games. And since I won’t vote for a fool, I was glad to see Obama take this step.
As Jack Kennedy’s father once told him, “You can do a lot of good when you get into office – but first, you have to get there”. (Paraphrased from my poor memory).
Mr. Cynical spews:
I thought the Unions were the most powerful special interest lobby.
If you looked at what Gregoire has done, she has followed Union marching Orders.
Mr. Cynical spews:

Did you pass out some of Rog Rabbit’s Carlin Specials at the picnic??
If you did, they would be R’s again…and so would the D’s!
Steve spews:
@13 More whining from the commie-fascist crowd.
The Real Mark spews:
rhp @ 11
How about you clarify which “Mark” you’re talking about??!!
demo kid spews:
@10: Hmmm… I’m sorry. If “slinging mud” for Democrats is talking about issues and concerns, and “slinging mud” for Republicans is dwelling on race and calling Michelle Obama a “baby mama”, don’t think you can make a comparison.
I’m amazed that anyone can think the GOP is the party of responsibility and values when they don’t really have much of either.
rhp6033 spews:
“Mark @ 16: Are there more than one of you? I’ll have to check back and make sure.

Yeah. Goldy even verifies it HERE. He knows the IP’s and e-mails used. If you don’t see the Roadkill Rabbit Gravatar on my post, it isn’t me.
rhp6033 spews:
The Real Mark @ 16: I was referring to “Mark the Redneck-Patriot” posting @ BIAW Comments. If this person is different then you, then I apologize. I will only give you a bad time for your own comments, not someone else’s.
Referring to your gravitar: Is that what it is? It’s awfully hard to tell, in a picture that small. To me it looks like a decapitated KKK head in a hood, lying on it’s side.
The Real Mark spews:
rhp @ 20
MTR-P is definitely not me. Apology accepted.
re: the Gravatar… It is Roger “Roadkill” Rabbit lying on a highway stripe.

Ha! what a load of BS. Gregoire is an enviro Nazi who doesn’t even deliver. Helluva salmon run there, ay Guvna’ ? Dems have been in charge longer than anyone can remember, and look at the state. Gridlock, polluted, sprawling and full of idiots who can’t pass a test that measures 8th grade skills when they’re in highschool.
Hardly the vantage point I’d be claiming a moral high ground on.

Mark real or not
Moveon has never to my knowledge “slung mud.”
As for General Petraeus, the Betray us adds were inane, but where is there mus in stating, as the General himself has said, that he does NOT see his actions as serviong our national defense? Rather he sees himself as a =soldier, doing the best he can to follow the orders of our elected government wihtout effecting an even more massive FU.
Is it mudslinging t question thsi sort of complicity in light of our own history of wasted military actions in Vietnam?
Would it be mudslinging t run the tape of Gen Powell lying to the UN?
The Real Mark spews:

Naaahhh… No corruption here…
rhp6033 spews:
Mark @ 27: And this would be your response if Rossi were elected, and Rossi pushed for the BIAW agenda? I suspect not.
rhp6033 spews:
Looks like the Seattle Times was just promised by Rossi that he would do away with the inheritance tax.
