If heathens like you or I contract some illness or our house burns down or some other calamity befalls us, God is punishing us. If that happens to one of them, it’s because God is speaking to them, showing them a ‘new way’ or testing their faith or teaching them a valuable lesson in ‘humility’ or whatever.
