    Black unemployment, after falling to record lows has jumped a full point, however.
    And while prime working age labor force participation has rebounded beyond pre-pan norms, overall labor force participation has not risen, indicated that older and younger workers may be facing employment headwinds.

    In the immediately preceding Wednesday post I alluded to some of the reasons for this. Younger workers seeking all important initial work experience are often shit upon by corporate employers in ways that defy description. And aging workers facing health challenges and complex responsibilities away from their jobs are heavily discriminated against by most employers and simultaneously driven away from the workplace by absurd employer demands.

    Sick kid has to be picked up from school? You get “points”. Vital doctor’s appointment that can’t be rescheduled? You get “points”. Accrue too many points in a rolling calendar period, you’re terminated by the computer. Can’t stand continuously for five hours straight on a diamond hard concrete floor without any bathroom breaks? You can’t clerk here. Can’t be available on a moment’s notice to fill an empty shift? We can’t count on you, so you’re fired.

    There is strong evidence that coming out of pandemic closures many employers in unskilled sectors relaxed workplace and scheduling requirements to be more accommodating of real people. But some of that relaxation now appears to be going away. And with it goes some percentage of the workforce simply unable to make the sacrifices demanded of them for near-minimum wage jobs. The highly intrusive, micro-management, “no excuses”, “meet arbitrary quota or die trying” HR mentality long popular in low wage employment sectors is slowly creeping back.

    Still the robots have not arrived to save us.

    Heritage Foundation is obsessed with Harry and Meagan.

    The conservative Heritage Foundation is taking the federal government to court in an effort to get records related to Prince Harry’s U.S. visa application, questioning whether the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) acted properly after the Duke of Sussex admitted he has used drugs on U.S. and foreign soil.

    “Widespread and continuous media coverage has surfaced the question of whether DHS properly admitted the Duke of Sussex in light of the fact that he has publicly admitted to the essential elements of a number of drug offenses in both the United States and abroad,” the complaint said. “United States law generally renders such a person inadmissible for entry into the United States (note, this is not actually true but is a potential barrier to entry, see hundreds of thousands of musicians regularly granted temporary entry and legendary drug fiends like John Lennon, Ozzy Ozborne, George Michael being granted permanent residency despite actual drug arrests.). Intense media coverage has also surfaced the question of whether DHS may have improperly granted the Duke of Sussex a waiver to enter the country on a non-immigrant visa given his history of admissions to the essential elements of drug offenses.”

    It’s a weird claim because, as famously married to a U.S. Citizen, Harry has more rights than your average would be immigrant. Yes, a green card CAN be denied to a drug addict or abuser of drugs but that’s a threshold that is grey. Is ‘youthful dalliance’ abuse? Also there is the ‘persons of extraordinary talent or repute’ exception, right Melania?

    And why does Heritage care if a mostly-Ex royal is living in California? One can only assume that marriage to a mongrel and the mongrel kids they are going to produce are the primary drivers of a deeply whacked conservative organization trying FOIA an immigration decision.

    And here you thought they only cared about people coming from shithole countries.

    This is a good thing for Democrats.

    It helps ensure Trump and Trump affiliated candidates control over the GOP. Which in turn not only increases traditional turnout for Dems but significantly moves unaffiliated voters in swing states and districts our way.

    And, as always, they are doing it all entirely to themselves.

    Who really knows if John Kasich would have beaten Hillary Clinton, right?
    But it surely would have put the GOP on a completely different trajectory from the one it is now zooming ahead on.

    Under the new rules set forth by the IRS, if you got paid more than $600 for the transaction of goods and services through third-party payment platforms, you will receive a 1099-K for reporting the income. With this new, lower threshold for triggering the tax form, more individuals with side hustles, small businesses and gigs may be reporting the income they earn.

    Now that the money’s being reported and traced, it’s frequently to the gig worker’s advantage to be an employee and only pay half of the payroll taxes required, PLUS get bennies, instead of pocketing the under-the-table payments. That means more jobs “created”.

    Plus I’m a race baiter with this whole argument. If as observed 12% of the electorate in 2020 was black AND 80% of those voted democratic, a hair shy of 10% of the electorate were black voting Democrat.

    So out of the approximately 156M votes cast, about 15.5M were black votes for the Democratic Party.

    So making a claim that the IQ of the Democratic Party is low by extrapolating (15.5m/81m) 19% of those voters were low IQ blacks because we all know that ALL blacks are low IQ is pretty fucking stupid and racist and blatantly obvious that I’m being a racist.
