– What is happening with the transit tunnel? I understand the tracks needing repair. Shitty but it happens. But if hypothetically, I want to go North, I go to the South platform and make sure the bus is Northbound (presumably from the direction, but also hopefully signage and the intercom). I’m sure there will be signs, but what a mess.

    Apparently the problem with the DSTT was crews working on repairing Pine Street punctured part of the roof at Westlake. Was hectic last night, switching trains at both Capitol Hill and Stadium. When the DSTT was rebuilt with proper rails, they removed switches at the intermediate stations, could have left them in at Pioneer Square and University Street, would have made emergency single tracking easier. No switches between Stadium and Capitol Hill.

    This morning, using Plan B for the first leg of my commute, the 48 bus. A heavily used route that the residents had to beg Seattle Transit to create. Hopefully it will be a trolleybus route in a few years, just two wire gaps to close, plus two new rectifier substations.

    A Republican who unsuccessfully ran for Allegheny County Council in 2021 has been accused of pulling a gun during an altercation at a Republican committee meeting, reported the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Friday.

    The problems allegedly started when Eric Phillip Casteel began shouting during the meeting, taking place at the Plum Community Center near Pittsburgh.

    Casteel “walked out of the building, saying that he would be back,” the Tribune-Review reported. “Three others attending the meeting followed Casteel outside in an effort to de-escalate the situation and told police they saw him put what appeared to be a firearm in his waistband. They tried to retreat to one of their trucks, but said Casteel approached them with the firearm in his hand, according to the complaint.
