A little drizzle and wind, and you can breathe again in Downtown Seattle. It’s maybe a bit hazy, but it’s nice. Greater rain will get the rest of it.

Going forward, we’ll have to figure out how to not make this a yearly thing. Better forestry practices and fixing — or realisticly preventing the worst of — global warming are obviously priorities. Also, maybe building code updates so less smoke gets inside.

Anyway, please wash your hands right now. And get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible. Seriously, the bivalent booster is a miracle.

    The campaign manager for former Democratic Florida Rep. Charlie Crist’s bid to unseat incumbent Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appears to have been arrested in Maryland this week, before the campaign said he would leave to handle a “family matter.”

    Austin Durrer, who has worked for Crist since 2016, was arrested Tuesday in Cambridge, Maryland, on second-degree assault charges in a case classified as “domestic violence    ,” according to Dorchester County court records obtained by Fox News Digital. Durrer was released on $10,000 bond after his arrest, and the court ordered him to surrender firearms and vacate his home.

    Durrer’s trial is slated for Dec. 7. Based on the charges in the case, he faces up to 10 years’ imprisonment.

    Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis is on track for re-election, leading Democrat challenger Charlie Crist by 11 percentage points in the latest Florida Atlantic University poll.

    The poll comes off of solid approval ratings, particularly for DeSantis’ response to Hurricane Ian. DeSantis leads Crist 51-40% in the survey conducted of registered voters by the Florida Atlantic University Business and Economics Polling Initiative.

    The Republican incumbent’s approval rating was 53%, with his response to the hurricane garnering 63% approval. Nearly 67% of respondents expect DeSantis to be reelected, as well.

    Since it’s a RV poll, in reality 2024 President-elect Ron DeSantis is actually up 15 points.
