Those greedflators sure do luv their cheap labor.. legal (asylum seekers) or not..

job creation for those already here is well below native population growth requirements. Which is how you get fewer people in the labor force.

Now we’re told the boomers, the “me” generation, are “forced” to retire..

From Heather Long, an Editorial Board member at WaPo, here’s the data comparing employment in May 2024 to employment in May 2023. (That’s YoY, not MoM.)

That’s fewer than 400,000 more employed over one year. Like, 32,000 more employed per month.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed increased by more than 500,000 and the population not in the labor force over that same one year period increased by more than 700,000.

The US economy needs to create at least 150,000 jobs each month to keep up with population growth. We’ve known that for years.

The number of employed persons increased by only 32,000 per month in the last year, while the number of unemployed increased by more than 40,000 per month in the last year, and the nation’s working population fell by nearly 60,000 per month. See @ 3

So, what about all of the “new jobs” BLS says were created? Where are they?

They’re held by people who already have one job. So that they can deal with the effects of Bidenflation and continue to feed their families.

HA’s unserious twat, Queen YLB, claims that the labor force participation rate is falling because more older people are choosing to retire.

    Here’s the problem with that:

The labor force participation rate for 65-plus population in May 2023 was 23.3%.

That rate in May 2024 was 23.7%.

Here’s my source, which is the St. Louis Fed.

In other words, ya dumb cunt Queen YLB, older people are working longer because Bidenflation has made it more difficult for them to make it on a retiree’s income.

In other words, ya dumb cunt Queen YLB, since older people are contributing more to the labor force participation rate but the overall rate is declining, the rest of the work force is in decline.

Bidenflation touches all. Today it teaches dumb cunt Queen YLB to check data over the past year when attempting to refute an assertion pertaining to employment over the past year, rather than try to explain something by predictions pertaining to future years.

Researchers plan to retract landmark Alzheimer’s paper containing doctored images
Senior author acknowledges manipulated figures in study tying a form of amyloid protein to memory impairment

Authors of a landmark Alzheimer’s disease research paper published in Nature in 2006 have agreed to retract the study in response to allegations of image manipulation. University of Minnesota (UMN) Twin Cities neuroscientist Karen Ashe, the paper’s senior author, acknowledged in a post on the journal discussion site PubPeer that the paper contains doctored images. The study has been cited nearly 2500 times, and would be the most cited paper ever to be retracted, according to Retraction Watch data.

Just imagine all of the drugs thrown at Biden in an attempt to dissolve the amyloid destroying his brain, only to learn that 1) it’s not amyloid, after all 2) the drugs themselves did more damage to his neuroaxonal myelin stores than the disease could have done.

Would certainly explain the marked acceleration of Biden’s cognitive decline in the past several months.

Supreme Court justices have received nearly $5 million in gifts since the early 2000s, and one justice in particular, Justice Clarence Thomas, accounts for nearly all of it.

Data released Thursday by watchdog group Fix the Court unveils a list of gifts justices have received since January 2004. The dataset was released ahead of an expected release of the justices’ financial disclosure reports Friday.

Thomas, nominated to the high court by former President George H.W. Bush, made headlines last year after an investigation found he had taken dozens of trips paid for by separate billionaire friends.

According to the data compiled by Fix the Court, since 2004, Thomas has accepted $4,042,286, or 193 gifts. The group reported that, for Thomas, there’s an additional 126 “likely but not confirmed gifts.”

Of the nearly 200 gifts, the group said Thomas only reported 27 of the gifts on his financial disclosures.

Glad all that summer nonsense is over. My kids got to eat the last couple months. Maybe I should vote.

The Covid pandemic provided a real-time experiment of a strengthened social safety net, in which several anti-poverty programs were bolstered and benefits increased. One such program, called Pandemic EBT, provided a voucher for families to purchase groceries while children were unable to attend school in person, helping them to obtain the nutrition they would otherwise get through free school meals and lifting millions of children out of hunger.

In late 2022, Congress approved a similar, permanent program on a bipartisan basis. Called SUN Bucks, or Summer EBT, the program begins this month and provides families with $40 per child per month in grocery benefits over the summer, or $120 in total, when they don’t have access to free lunches at school.

Thirty-seven states, five territories, and the District of Columbia will participate in the program. But 13 states, all led by Republican governors, have opted out of the program, depriving millions of low-income kids. Several of these states have also declined to expand Medicaid, increasing the burden on households too poor to afford health care or basic groceries.

Most kids school year ends this week or next.

Because DC plans do not have the same age-based incentive to retire early that DB plans do and because the loss of generous DB plans has potentially caused a negative wealth effect, workers are increasingly motivated to work past the FRA…

Why are older workers remaining in the labor force longer nowadays? According to Coile, when both the shift to DC pension plans and the changes in Social Security are considered, the ITAX has fallen since 1980 to around 20 percentage points for older workers ages 65–69 (inclusive). In other words, these changes to Social Security and pensions incite older workers to remain in the labor force longer. Once again, workers under 65 years old were found to be unaffected.

In 2019 the economy was firing on all cylinders and jobs were plentiful. Real jobs, not PT gigs supplementing income to offset Bidenflation.

More real jobs means more people working means the labor force participation rate went up in 2019.

The overall labor force participation rate went up from 62.7 in January 2017 to 63.3 in December 2019, and the unemployment rate went down from 4.8% in January 2017 to 3.5% in December 2019.

Until the pandemic the Trump economy was job growth and low unemployment.

Pointing out the higher labor participation rate in 2019, Queen YLB, only points out that there were good jobs to be had in 2019, and people took advantage of it. At the end of 2019 unemployment had fallen 1.3% from the last Obama month and the labor participation rate had grown 0.6% from the last Obama month.

Now there are fake jobs and people are bailing from the labor force.

But I’d like to thank you, Queen YLB, for pointing out the strength of the pre-pandemic Trump economy. Darryl certainly appreciates you for your in-kind contribution to the Trump 2024 campaign.

    46,
She calls out 2007-2009, but if you look at the data going all the way back, she’s really just arbitrarilly cherry picking something to focus on for which she can offer no basis (like the Village Idiot).

It’s a long term trend that prime age male labor force participation begins falling in the early 1970s and falls about ten percent through about 2015 then begins recovering before Trump blows up the labor force with COVID mismanagement.

A bunch of things at work. Breaking up unions, stripping out laws that protect collective bargaining, workers older than 54 staying in the workforce longer once DB plans are replaced with DC plans, and of course women moving into the workforce in massive numbers. The last one is the significant one. With twice as many householders seeking full time work roles begin to change and periods of unemployment or itinerant employment become more frequent and more prolonged. Which is to be expected. And not necesarrilly a bad thing either.

Again, with 55-64 it’s also a long term trend, with the rate rising steadily from the mid eighties (Raygun) to today. Retirement financial uncertainty driven partly by Republican/plutocrat hostility to organized labor and DB pensions but in particular by skyrocketing health care costs. Also predicted. But an entirely bad thing. Huge numbers of older Americans clinging precariously to Shit Jobs they despise simply to keep the affordable group coverage long after they otherwise would have retired.

This is how bad faith kl🤡wnservatives cherry pick, twist, and misuse government statistics to gaslight. The economic trends of the last forty years of American kl🤡wnservative ascendancy are all 💩. All any kl🤡wnservative needs to do is be sufficiently selective and precise and they can tell any 💩 story they like.

Male prime-age labor force participation is basically back to pre-pandemic levels. That’s encouraging to see.

But it just never recovered from the 2007-09 Great Recession.

    …

Now who’s at fault for 2007..

Physicians, mainly. It wasn’t 2007, it was 2008-2010. When people exhausted their unemployment benefits during the Great Recession many of them were declared “disabled” by physicians so that they wouldn’t end up with zero benefits. Once declared disabled and on the government dole, they stayed there. It’s why 25-54 male employment is at 89% instead of 90%.

    The data’s right here:

    https://www.ssa.gov/oact/STATS/dibStat.html

From ’09-11 the annual increase in the long-term disabled was 4.5-5.3%. Over those three years 3 million people were added to the rolls of the disabled, Queen YLB, and only 1.9 million were terminated. That’s a net addition of 1.1 million people receiving permanent disability benefits from SSA.

Let’s compare that with the years 2017-2019. 2.25 million people were added and 2.6 million were terminated, for a net subtraction of 350 thousand people from long term disability benefit rolls.. That’s 1.2-1.8% of the total.

It’s going to take at least another decade to strip away the deadwood from the long-term disability rolls, Queen YLB. Sooner or later we’ll get to you and strip your payment. The Biden administration is continuing the pattern of annual terminations well in excess of additions, I’m pleasantly surprised to note. (Same link)

But to answer your question, it wasn’t a president who caused the participation to decrease. It was the willingness of physicians to lie so that their patients could continue to receive benefits during the Great Recession.

No one knows better than you, Queen YLB, that sucking at the government teat beats working for a living. You’ve lived off of the labors of others your entire life, girlfriend.

As we have written, Republicans haven’t been able to establish that Joe Biden benefited from his family’s business dealings or used his position as vice president to aid those deals.

    and..

Gaetz later asked if a dinner attended by a Burisma official, which Joe Biden also attended, amounted to a bribe.

“I would love to see the evidence of that,” Biden responded. “I think the only person … that you believe that has evidence of that is a guy named Alexander Smirnov, who’s in lockup in L.A. right now, being charged and indicted for lying on behalf of Russian intelligence.”

Earlier in his testimony, Biden made mention of Smirnov, telling Republicans on the committee that Smirnov “has made you dupes in carrying out a Russian disinformation campaign waged against my father” and “has been indicted for his lies.”

They also said Cannon’s lack of trial experience, both as a lawyer and a judge, is apparent … some of her habits that have raised eyebrows … include a penchant for letting irrelevant legal questions distract from core issues, a zero-tolerance approach to any technical defects in filings, and a struggle with docket management that allows the type of pretrial disputes that other judges would decide in weeks go unresolved for months. “She is not efficient,” said one attorney who practices in south Florida. “She is very form over substance.” … They described her as latching onto abstract, academic questions at the expense of the type of on-the-fly decision-making required by trial judges that keeps litigation moving along … some said that her fixation on technicalities led cases to get bogged down in minutiae.

This isn’t what you want a trial judge to do. But you’re not an attorney, so you wouldn’t know that.
