Taliban gunmen killed a Christian aid worker in Kabul on Monday, and the militant group said it targeted the woman because she was spreading her religion.
The dual South African-British national worked with handicapped Afghans and was killed in the western part of Kabul as she was walking to work around 8 a.m., officials said.
The gunmen, who were on a motorbike, shot the woman in the body and leg with a pistol, said Interior Ministry spokesman Zemeri Bashary.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the slaying.
“This woman came to Afghanistan to teach Christianity to the people of Afghanistan,” militant spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid told The Associated Press. “Our (leaders) issued a decree to kill this woman. This morning our people killed her in Kabul.”

THOMAS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police say a Michigan Democratic Party Activist and staunch supporter of Barrack Obama has been arrested after “receiving sexual favors from a vacuum” at a car wash.
The Saginaw News reports the 29-year-old Swan Creek Township man was arrested Thursday in Saginaw County’s Thomas Township, about 90 miles northwest of Detroit.
Police Sgt. Gary Breidinger says a resident called to report suspicious activity at the car wash about 6:45 a.m. An officer approached on foot and caught the man in the act. A rabbit, also involved, eluded the officer.
The suspect, whose name wasn’t immediately released, is being held in the Saginaw County Jail. The Rabbit is rumored to be hopping his ass off back to Washington State.

Of course, he’s not going to be buying a lot of hunting supplies, other than a little ammo. He’s already got what he needs. And how much ammo do you need to bring down an elk or a deer? If you can’t make a kill with one shot, you’ve got no business being out there during the hunting season.
Besides, he saves his brass and uses shell-loaders to save money. So I guess all he’s buying is lead and powder. Assuming his dog doesn’t chew up any more of his bullets!
(Yep, that dog actually got hold of a box of ammo, and chewed the bullets into preztel-shaped works of art. Amazingly, he didn’t hit the primer so none of them went off, which saved his life for the time being. I wish I had taken a picture of those mangled shells when he showed them to me).

That’s because they make their profit from government welfare and don’t have to sell a damn thing in their stores — the stores are merely window dressing for a corporate scam that is adept at fleecing municipalities of millions of dollars in exchange for a few dozen minimum-wage jobs. To give you an idea of how this works, a typical Cabela’s retail center costs about $30 million to build, but the inducements and giveaways may amount to as much as $50 million or $60 million. The company’s profits are recession-proof because they come from taxpayers and don’t depend on sales. ALL the talking heads are now talking about Market Timing opportunities…. BUY when the market takes a couple back-to-back dips and sell into the rallies. It ain’t rocket science. Warren Buffett does not make these types of plays Rog…he is a long-term investor. I was too…until May, 2007 when it became clear the long-term market would trend lower with increasing volatility. A number of wise investment advisors all said this. Then I got all out..when the Dow hit 14,000. I sat on the sidelines for a long time. I only started trading when these same investment advisors more than 6 months ago stated we are headed into high volatility creating these short-term opportunities. I am only gambling less than 5% of liquid assets on this. Has it worked? YES. Has it worked beyond my wildest expectations? YUP. Am I going to continue to do it? Only as long as the High Volatility is upon us.
Once the Long-term Market Trend looks sustainably positive, I will become a long-term investor again.
The vast majority of my liquid assets have been in Flex CD’s that I found between 5-5.5% Interest Rates on. They are generally 18 months and start coming due in November on a staggered basis. I have tried to share with you that you can make money in a declining market…but you need to have a short-term, disciplined strategy. I have only made about 15 trades. Not extraordinary. I know some daytraders who have been making that many in a day.
Perhaps most of you are not into the short-term gambling/investing. I can understand that. But to stay in the market and ride it down to these levels is….stupid.
Perhaps many of you do not have the liquid resources to gamble. I understand that and I’m sure my posts have fueled your hostility, anger & jealousy to the point all you can say is it’s not true.

@24 Investment results are not the point. The point is I don’t work, and no one else should, either! That’s because our crazy tax system rewards stock flippers and punishes wage earners. I get to pay 1/3rd the taxes of workers for doing something that adds nothing to GDP nor produces anything of value — all I do is push the same money round and round an endless circle. And I get tax breaks for this? It’s crazy, but true! So, why should I work? Republicans don’t, and I don’t either. If you don’t like my leeching off the investment system, then change the fucking tax laws! I didn’t pass these stupid tax laws, a Republican congress did! Their incentive system is a closed loop and a zero-sum game. It’s counterproductive and destructive in the long run. But as long as we have tax laws like this, it makes no sense to work or be productive, so I don’t work and I live the life of an idle leech like the government wants me to. Does that answer your question?
27
Roger Rabbitspews:
I assume Cynical is either a liar or doesn’t work, either. Why would anyone work if they can day-trade stocks like he says he does, and get 2/3rds off their tax bill as a reward for not working or producing anything? If the Democrats have any sense they’ll put a stop to this tax scam, but I’m going to milk it as long as I can, because I want to live like a Republican too!
28
Stevespews:
Marvin’s Goat, The way I see it, Roger usually makes a point or two when he discusses trading. I agree with him on every point he’s made in this regard. So I get no irritation from that whatsoever. Cynical, on the other hand, and this is regardless of whether or not his trades are real, simply broadcasts his insecurities and his more than abundant feelings of inadequacy. There’s nothing else there and it gets old quick.
Regarding his so-called trades, these are seemingly based on neither fundamentals nor technical analysis. His style is more akin to putting money on 22 black. His recent trades could also be described as an attempt to “catch a falling knife”, something no experienced trader would do. Trends are ignored, say, as he buys financial stocks during a financial meltdown, when any trader would tell you that, “The trend is your friend”. Hasn’t he ever heard of a short position? Further, he never tells the full story on any trade. What’s the stop loss set at? Why does he comes in after the close and tell us that he bought such and such today, and it’s always a few cents above the day’s low. There’s a smell there. There’s also this strange stable of stocks, seemingly chosen to spite other people. What trader would do that? One of them is the JRCC stock. Technically, it was a buy back in January, a sell in July, a definite short in August. Yet he’s still going on about the damned thing.
Real or not, it all comes across as just so much bullshit. And like I said, real or not, underlying it all is this never ending insecurity/inadequacy thing of his. As for the reality of it, I don’t think so. Nobody with his trading philosophy would last very long. And the market is no place for a person to work out their personal issues. So no, I don’t buy it. I also don’t care as he’s a fucked up mess either way.
However, all that being said, there’s really no cause for irritation unless one finds a wing-nuts’ psychological trainwreck unpleasant to watch. Personally, I don’t mind. In fact, I enjoy helping them travel down the tracks whenever I can.

Actually Rog, Stock Flippers pay the same Federal Income tax rate as workers if they are short-term capital gains.

Once again Rog, a total fabrication. You know darn well ST Capital Gains are taxed at the same rate as earned income. I pay 35%. You somehow want to throw in Social Security Tax on this. Certainly if O-blah-blah does it, no one will sell stocks..or buy them either and the market will tank.

He also invested in Swiss Annuities back then and got fabulous returns as the dollar tanked. I put in $25,000 just to shut him up….and made almost $15,000. I disagree with him about Obama, but respect his expertise on precious metals and I respect his opinion.
Most of you KLOWNS are so tied up in knots about Global things, that you cannot focus on the opportunities in front of you.
No more Market Advice!
Promise.

Roger Rabbit spews:
I assume Cynical is either a liar or doesn’t work, either. Why would anyone work if they can day-trade stocks like he says he does, and get 2/3rds off their tax bill as a reward for not working or producing anything? If the Democrats have any sense they’ll put a stop to this tax scam, but I’m going to milk it as long as I can, because I want to live like a Republican too!

What does Stock-flipping do??
Makes the market work better. Restrictions on how long you must hold a stock would create a mighty inefficent market.
Mr. Cynical spews:
27. Roger Rabbit spews:
Once again Rog, a total fabrication. You know darn well ST Capital Gains are taxed at the same rate as earned income. I pay 35%. You somehow want to throw in Social Security Tax on this. Certainly if O-blah-blah does it, no one will sell stocks..or buy them either and the market will tank.
The reason people are investors is a 15% LT Capital Gains Tax. Stock-flipping is already penalized.
Rog, do you think if you keep repeating a lie often enough it will make it true.
You can do better than that.
Mr. Cynical spews:
Rog–
15 ST Trades over 6 months hardly makes someone a hardcore stock flipper.
You should find some solice over the fact I will be sending approx $35,000 to Obama because of this gambling I did for him to piss away giving handouts to his loser supporters.
Steve spews:
@31 Delusional. And very boring. The Cynical trainwreck gets closer with each insipid post.
