Because at every stump speech, trump talks about building a wall to keep out the brown people, clawing back jobs from china, punishing companies that move jobs out of the country, negotiate trade deals that help Americans, protect America from terror, get ride of the Affordable Care Act, protect social security, get rid of common core, fix our infrastructure. Doesn’t matter if he’s telling the truth, he’s telling them what they desperately want to hear.
How can a cruz platform of culture wars compete with that? Who cares about gay marriage when you can’t pay your bills because your job went to mexico? Who cares if he had multiple divorces? He’s going to do something about the outsiders taking their jobs, since the establishment won’t.
Actually, I’m worried that Hillary Clinton cannot compete with that. The media is not giving her anywhere near the free press they are giving trump. And when they do, all they show is her message that she is not trump.
