I got my heart broken in 2004, believing the exit polls. But I guess I’m just a glutton for punishment. Here’s the first leak to come my way:
Democrats leading:
Virginia (52-47)
Rhode Island (53-46)
Pennsylvania (57-42)
Ohio (57-43)
New Jersey (52-45)
Montana (53-46)
Missouri (50-48)
Maryland (53-46)
Republicans leading:
Tennessee (51-48)
Arizona (50-46)
Don’t trust ’em, but I’d rather the numbers show we’re up than down.
Yep, better than the alternative.
Did Verizon Impose An Election Day Internet Blackout?
I, and numerous other people I know, were unable to access the internet or communicate by email from yesterday morning until this afternoon. My super-sensitive bunny nose detects an odor of dirty tricks wafting in the air.
I suppose these are referring to the Senate races? Good news for Maryland, Ohio, NJ, Montana and Missouri. If we win all those we take the Senate. Tennessee would be nice, too.

That table shows six Senate pickups. That’s control of BOTH houses of Congress, baby!
If “Stinkin’ Joe” Lieberman doesn’t stab us in the back. Or if Lamont wins CT.
Just out of curiosity, how have exit polls adjusted for vote-by-mail? In Washington, a quick look every county in Washington voting entirely by mail, except for King, Pierce, and a couple of other counties in Central Washington. Even in those four counties, voluntary absentee ballots have resulted in a majority of voters voting by mail anyway.
http://www.electoral-vote.com:2006/ breaks exactly the same way as the exit polls Goldy cited, so if this holds up, the Democrats will have a 51-49 majority in the Senate.
The six pickups would be
– Virginia (52-47) (formerly held by George Allen – R)
– Rhode Island (53-46) (formerly held by Lincoln Chafee – I – caucuses with Rs)
– Pennsylvania (57-42) (formerly held by Rick Santorum – R)
– Ohio (57-43) (formerly held by Mike DeWine – R)
– Montana (53-46) (formerly held by Conrad Burns – R)
– Missouri (50-48) (formerly held by James Talent – R)
In Maryland, a Democrat is retiring (I think Sarbanes), so it’s not a pickup. In New Jersey, the Democrat Menendez is the incumbent.
I would trade many good things to eliminate Senator Macacawicz.
And please keep track of CA-11. Pombo vs McNerney. Pombo is the most virulently anti-environment candidate in the Western hemisphere, and has gotten about $500k in Abramoff money. Not to mention the other corporate welfare.
They brand McNerney as the “libral” but about 2 seconds of looking at his background nixes that one.
Everything “looks” great. It may just be that we as a nation and as individuals have lived through the worst assault on our union since the civil war.
This is gonna be a freakin’ rout.
@ 4:
“If “Stinkin’ Joe” Lieberman doesn’t stab us in the back……”
The Dems backstabbed Lieberman who, other than the war, was a loyal partymember.
You have no loyalty and deserve whatever he does.
@9: “Everything “looks” great. It may just be that we as a nation and as individuals have lived through the worst assault on our union since the civil war.”
Terrorists from overseas bombed buildings in NY during the civil war?
I don’t think so.
The Dems backstabbed Lieberman who, other than the war, was a loyal partymember.
The challenge to Lieberman was a response, not a provocation. Rape Gurney Joe brought it on himself.
Jack:
And unlike this President, Lincoln didn’t attack Canada when Fort Sumter was attacked.
Senator Man-on-Dog is on his way out. I wonder if that means his campaign screwed the pooch?
Jack Burton: You and your tripe just became irrelevant. Your opinions don’t matter. Nobody cares what you think. Get used to it.
