I’d heard about state Sen. Pam Roach’s infamous “Roses” speech on the floor of the state Senate, but I’d never actually heard it before I was emailed this audio clip.

WASHINGTON – Movie actor Wesley Snipes was indicted Tuesday on eight counts of tax fraud accusing him of trying to cheat the government of $12 million in false refund claims.
Snipes, 44, also failed to file tax returns for six years, according to an indictment unsealed in Tampa, Fla.
Federal prosecutors said that Snipes fraudulently claimed refunds totaling nearly $12 million in 1996 and 1997 on income taxes already paid. I kind of like Pam Roach because she did me a big legislative favor once. She probably doesn’t realize she saved Roger Rabbit’s life. If she knew, that probably would gall the shit out of her.
So I won’t speak against Roach. Whatever I am, I’m not an ingrate.
I understand Goldy and the rest of my liberal friends wanting to skewer Roach, but as you go about that task, I hope you’ll keep in memory her service to Roger Rabbit.

She is a nut case with a bad wig. I remember when Pammy was repeatedly parking in a disabled access parking spot located on the back of the Legislative building. Darlene Fairly kicked her butt. Sen Fairly is mobile only with crutches and was forced to park much farther from the building. Nice Pam. Then there was the time she threatened her staff. So many stories and so little time.

For the same reason rural areas that are 100% Republican are unsafe and full of drugs, gangs, and crime — the GOP has been totally ineffective in dealing with crime or the drug problem.
One of the reasons the GOP has made no headway in stemming the drug trade is because they have consistently opposed any funding for drug treatment programs. They apparently think putting drug criminals out of business by eliminating market demand for their product by helping users get off drugs isn’t worth investing in. Maybe, maybe not; but whatever they’re doing isn’t working.
