   So true.

   Sometimes I think society would be better off with more frequent power outages to remind us of our fragile dependency on technology.

   In this day and age the power goes out and you have to light a candle, it is almost a religious experience. At the very least a moment of contemplation.

   One of these days I am going to try a radical self experiment. No internet, no computer, no phone for 30 days.

   I try a radical experiment every winter when ice storms knock out the power lines — I yank the starter cord on my Honda generator and my computer comes back in!
