I’m still catching up after four days in Orange County, CA., after a failed effort to get Mickey Mouse to comment on whether or not he is registered to vote, but I have to laugh as I hurriedly digest the latest in the WA-08 race between Darcy Burner and Republican incumbent Dave Reichert.
Sounds like the Seattle Times is up to its old dirty tricks, just like last cycle. Did they call her “Mrs. Bruner” yet? Has Sheriff Dave refused to answer any questions from the publisher’s son?

Funny thing–the dirty tricks are blowing up in the RNC’s face, especially as women recognize a low down RNC/Seattle Times smear job. And over what for crying out loud? Some stinking degree terminology, which Darcy is telling the truth about anyhow. Yeah, that Ivy League stuff shore ’nuff is perplexin’.

Look. Reichert isn’t the best but Burner is an absolute tragedy. There is a point to being partisan and calling Burner a good choice is crossing it.
She has literally run on nothing. Has phenomenally poor ideas. Plays to the polls like a career politician, yet has none of that experience.
Have you really sat and listened to her? It’s brutal.
Market pundits are expecting another shitty day on Wall Street tomorrow.

Yes, and she’s one of the most intelligent and impressive politicians I’ve ever spoken with. The intense opposition to her that I encounter is rooted in one thing, and one thing only: male insecurity. People have a hard time dealing with the fact that such a soft-spoken female has so impressive a background.
Fixing the problems of the 21st century will involve dealing with complex issues, many of which will have a lot to do with technology and economics. It should be abundantly clear which of the two people running to represent the district is more capable of that. Being a police officer is a noble profession, but it does not prepare you for 90+% of what Congress deals with. And the fact that Reichert has been doing little more than keep a seat warm for the last 4 years should have demonstrated that by now.

And for all of us whose experience is working with her or in conjunction with her? Our experience means what?
Fortunately there are enough other people out there that have worked with her, dealt with her, etc. that are starting to speak up that she probably won’t win this time either.
