Hey, George. As someone who’s had many conversations with Darcy and Dave Reichert, I can tell you two things. Darcy is a brilliant, studious policy junkie that can speak off the cuff on ANY issue (ala Bill Clinton.) Reichert is a spectacularly average, and extremely linear in thought. (But a great guy to have a beer and watch a game with)

I don’t know that Darcy drives anything any more — since the time a few years ago where she caused a multi-car accident that, at the very least, hurt a small child. (Yes, it says so right in the police report.)
Not only did she hurt a small child, but she skipped out on her responsibilities to the extent that one of the other victims had to sue Darcy to collect damages.

Real Mark, I used to think you had a brain in your head. I no longer so believe. If Darcy Burner got sued because of a traffic accident that caused injury to someone, that was because her insurance company refused to offer reasonable compensation to the injured party. Darcy would have had absolutely no say in the matter. Just as you would have no say in the matter if you rearended someone, causing injury. Read your auto policy. You don’t get to make the call.

John McCain, on the other hand, signed the binding commitment to take public financing during the primary and then declared unilaterally that he was pulling out, in violation of the, what? , McCain-Feingold law. The Republican head of the FEC has stated publicly that McCain’s action was not legal because the law states that such an action requires FEC approval.
John McCain is spending tens of millions of dollars unlawfully, and received ballot access in a number of states on the basis of this agreement. He’s a criminal who can’t follow the law he wrote and should not be trusted.

His change of heart was due to the vast sums generated, plain and simple. It very much remains to be seen whether public financing in this way is a good thing. When your money comes directly from the public it creates an incentive to make promises that have great appeal but are irresponsible fiscally or in some other way. It remains to be seen where this is heading.

Obama also has multi-millions that have been donated indirectly from lobbyists and other special interests. This also doesn’t take into account the multi-millions in PAC and 527 money from which he’ll get plenty of benefit. As usualy, he only TALKS a good game.

There is no proof that Darcy was a National Merit Scholar. It is FAR more likely that she merely received a Letter of Recognition for her good scores on the PSAT. If she were an actual National Merit Scholar, she wouldn’t have had to (allegedly) work “multiple jobs” to put herself through college.
Since the footnote regarding her work at MSFT is a dead link, the only thing we have to go on is her MSFT personal blog which clearly indicates that she did NOT have as lofty a position as her (alleged) title or her bio represents.
Furthermore, other than campaign results and similar info, much of the information in that Wikipedia article comes from things like Left Wing blogs. Those aren’t facts. The Wikipedia article is clearly a plant designed to make her look good.
Seems to me re: Burner v. Reichert, that “experience” is what you insist on when you can’t talk about, you know, “accomplishments.”
