My DSL stopped working sometime last night. The modem says it is connecting fine, but I can’t connect to anything. Anyway, expect some light posting while I sort this out.
UPDATE:
Qwest called me back within a couple hours and fixed the problem. So I guess I’m satisfied with the customer service.

I think QWest beats the hell out of Comcast on both telephone and internet service. I switched to Comcast six months ago, and it has really sucked for the last two months. There is something defective about sending telephone and internet signals on a cable with over a hundred television signals and telephone and internet signals from hundreds of other subscribers. Comcast loses a pretty high percentage of “packets”, which results in slower internet speeds (due to the need to recover lost packets) and choppy, garbled telephone service (since lost packets simply disappear from the telephone signal, and leave only a fraction of it to get through to the other end).
With QWest, both your telephone and internet go on an individual telephone line, that is not shared with anyone else or anything else. And evidently QWest customer service actually fixes problems, instead of trying to delude you like Comcast does.
