It would be one thing if there were just a few nutjobs on the conservative-Republican side, but Democrats can just keep pointing out the crazy all the way through 2010 and beyond. Good for us anyhow.
Long term, this is bad for the country, because crazy people rarely have useful ideas about how to solve complicated problems. Short term, the Rumpublican Party is getting rumpier by the hour.
As lame as Democrats can be sometimes, mostly they’re lame in a serious, “I sell-out because I’m an unprincipled whore” kind of way, rather than in a “I’m your crazy Aunt Michelle and the Tri-Lateral Commission poisoned the bean dip” kind of way.
The two party system is so awesome.
Steve spews:
Mr. Klynical would like me to point out that, in his Rasmussen poll, the Approval Index for President Obama is soaring, more than two and a half times higher than just last week.
Don Joe spews:
So which of our resident trolls is going to remind Rep. Bachmann just who was president back in 1976?
Steve spews:
Rush Limbaugh:
“Take McCain and his daughter with you”
Michael Steele:
“Let’s be honest, Senator Specter didn’t leave the GOP based on principles of any kind. He left to further his personal political interests because he knew that he was going to lose a Republican primary due to his left-wing voting record.”
Republicans have got the hate dialed up to eleven.
YLB spews:
Bachmann just makes it up as she goes along doesn’t she?
Swine Flu? Jimmy Carter? Yeah right!
Judging by the views of our trolls here, her batshit insanity is pretty much in the mainstream of her party.
And that’s why the GOP-P has to go the way of the Whigs…
YLB spews:
I’ve been a little scarce lately myself but where did Stupes go?
Did the fool finally implode from his batshit insanity?
Steve spews:
@5 Nah, he’s posting as manoftruth again.
Steve spews:
Poor Mr. Klynical is having a bad day. I finally called him on his stock trade bullshit. I sent my trade confirmations to Goldy. You can read Mr. Klynicals lame-ass excuses for not sending his Wells Fargo trade confirmations on the other threads. Talk about some weak shit. He’s busted. It was nothing but lies.
Roger Rabbit spews:
There hasn’t been a Democrat this crazy since the collapse of the Old South in 1964 (sic). Don’t forget, this orangutan was elected by the people of her district. That’s hard to explain, except in terms of Minnesota’s long cold winters, and cabin fever. (In defense of some 6th C.D. Minnesotans, however, it should be pointed out that Bachmann got only 46% of the vote in a 3-way race.) This woman is definitely a black eye for Minnesota, along with the Vikings.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@7 I’m doing okay … my portfolio is up about 50% in the last few weeks. I hung onto all my oil stocks and bought some more. Mexico’s oil wells are running dry, and crude will be above $100 again in a couple of years. Currently, Mexico is the second largest supplier of imported oil to the U.S.; within 5 years, their production will drop to the level of their domestic needs and they’ll stop exporting altogether. My oil stocks are going to do just fine over the 3-to-5 year time horizon.

Cashing dividend checks sure beats working for a living! Better tax rate, too! Frankly, I don’t understand why anyone works. Republicans don’t work, and I don’t work either. I live like a Republican now — I get paid for not working, and I get nifty tax breaks for not working, too!
Roger Rabbit spews:
Mr. Sharansky doesn’t work, either. He has two (count ’em, TWO!!!) unearned income streams. First, he’s a gigolo living on the paychecks of his lawyer wife. Second, he strip-mines the public records law for taxpayer gold. Ya gotta admire the guy’s chutzpah! This is about as good as it gets short of being a Mafia don.
ByeByeGOP spews:
Wow I know that the GOP does an excellent job at BATSHIT CRAZY but this cunt takes the cake. Secretly, even the GOP has to worry about her. I can’t even imagine what kind of place the district she represents must be.
manoftruth spews:
Obama’s socialist schemes will bankrupt America if Congress doesn’t put the brakes on his drunken sailor-like spending. This kind of spending is unsustainable, but I think Obama understands this. He’s not stupid.
He doesn’t care if America goes bankrupt. His goal is to nationalize every industry in America to create a system of centralized economic planning. We call this socialism and it is a failed system of economics that inevitably brings about economic decline. In this system, the middle class is destroyed to pay for the indolent. Businesses die because economic incentives are destroyed. In its worst form – Communism – it also brings human slavery and death

yes, he’s supported by the jews to destroy the middle class because thats their threat of another holocaust. if you’re not a jew you’re a fool for following this path. remember, everything they do is to destroy the middle class

As if a potential pandemic respects national borders or political orientations. Jeez. They’re frickin’ germs fer Chrissake! Does anyone think they’ll politely ask the victim what party affiliation they have before they bite?
And as to ‘non-governmental organizations’, well, they’re essentially just special interest lobbyists, plain and simple, and I view all such with a jaundiced eye. Especially those who have major corp-rat ties. And whose personages keep winding up in positions of power. Such “Good Ol’ Boys’ networks gave us PNAC and the Bush Too (deliberate, not a misspelling) years, two bloody, hopeless and pointless wars, stray nukes on bombers, savaged civil liberties and a host of other nightmares, some we still don’t know about. Pols ought to be forced to disclose their NGO affiliations as well as their finances if they want access to the levers and buttons of power.
ByeByeGOP spews:
Is it possible that Michelle and Woman of Lies are the same person?
YellowPup spews:
We got both kinds: Country and Western.
correctnotright spews:
@16: Nice
Poor Michelle Bachmann – so stupid she doesn’t even realize how insipid she is.
Yeah, Gerald Ford (republican) was the (unelected) President in 1976 and started the swine flu immunizations. So what?
However, this strain is more able to tranmit from human to human. It has a mortaily rate of about 150/4,000 right now, or almost 4%.
If it eventually infects 1 billion people worldwide – that could mean almost 40 million deaths. It also may end up being more severe in people with a heatlhy immune system (similar to the 1918 outbreak). People with a very strong inflammatory response may have the total lung destruction that leads to death.

A good description of what we went through under Bush.

You don’t want to go there. But if you must go there, lock up your valuables in a secure place, go armed, and above all lock up your valuables in a secure place.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@13 What are you prattling about? Bush’s unsustainable spending did bankrupt America!! At least Obama’s spending does ordinary citizens some good. The only thing Republicans did with the trillions they squandered was line their own pockets with it. The GOP makes Somali pirates look like small-time hustlers.
Don Joe spews:
Looks like Ms. Bachmann has come up with another hoot–literally.
Truly amazing.
ArtFart spews:
3 I’ve been thinking about that claim regarding Specter, and I’ve decided I think it’s bunk. Look, the guy’s 79 years old, he’s had a long and respected political career, and he’s survived a battle with cancer which, thanks to government-provided care, didn’t bankrupt him. He’s got a fat pension (maybe more than one) coming his way, and he could easily retire and enjoy the rest of his years relaxing and enjoying himself. Despite that, it would appear that he feels he still has something to contribute, and whatever that is, it ain’t part of the neocons’ agenda. This is going to be interesting to watch.
proud leftist spews:
It is truly humbling to think that in this great democracy someone like Michelle Bachmann has a hand in making our laws. Damn, she’s an embarrassment.
correctnotright spews:
Don Joe:
Bachmann does it again!
She completely misunderstands and misquotes history. She claims that the Hoot-Hawley act (it is the Smoot-Hawley act) was written and approved by Roosevelt and caused the “recession”.
This is so wrong on so many levels:
Smoot and Hawley were republicns.
The act was written during the Hoover adminsitration and signed by Hoover.
It was a depression and worse than the “recession” of the early 20’s.
She has absolutely no understanding of history, of facts or of logic.
Amazing.
And this is the face of the republican party (also Rush, Newt, Steele and Cheney). No wonder any sane person is running like crazy to get out of the insane republican party.
SeattleMike spews:
Wow.
Just, wow.
And the second article below this says that conservatives ‘don’t get satire’. They can’t. They LIVE satire.
SNL has only to use her words, without comment, much as they did with McCain’s VP candidate.
“The Republican Party – come join the trainwreck in progress!”
Don Joe spews:
I was certain that Michelle Bachmann’s “Hoot-Smawley” gaffe was going to land her atop tonight’s episode of Olbermann’s Worst Person in the World. Not even close. She was third.
I’m speechless.
