Congratulations to Jenny Durkan on her US Senate confirmation as the new US Attorney for Western Washington. Now that she’s the law, I guess I better keep my nose clean.
Umm, compared to what heappened to John McKay – fired becuase he was not partisan republican enough and would not compromise his ethics…I think Jenny will be much impartial too.

Yay, Jenny!

I think that plays a small part in every US Attorney appointment. It sounds like it was a very small part in this case.
No doubt Jenny is a staunch Democrat and a close friend and ally of the Governor. (She’s also, by the way, a close friend of the McKay brothers, Republican appointees both.)
But above all, she’s a damn fine lawyer. More than qualified for the job.

I guess this mean Sherril Huff doesn’t have to worry about being railroaded to prison every time the Republican whiners lose another election.

What happened to John McKay and David Iglesias illustrates exactly why Republicans can’t be trusted with running the government.
I heard David Iglesias being asked on the radio a few weeks back if he was going to remain a Republican and he said he didn’t know. At one time he believed Republicans stood for law and order but now they’re anything but that.
No one in their right mind should ever trust a Republican ESPECIALLY if they parade themselves on right wing freak show media.

Interesting that the fellow who served between McKay’s firing and now is happy to stay on as a Federal prosecutor with Durkan for his boss.
One has to wonder if the powers that be haven’t been ‘grooming’ Durkan, McKay, and Satterberg, ever since there days in law school together.
This ‘bi-partisanship’ is about thieving from the public purse and calling anyone who dares to state their own opinion about priorities as a pervert. Durkan and Gregoire have brought the cycle of sexual abuse into government in the service of the same crowd Durkan’s father ran with.
And, FWIW, not all the critics of KC Elections are Republicans, and, for that matter, not all of the Bush US Attorney terminations might not have been without good cause.
Consider for example John McKay’s older brother, Mike, not so nearly as nice a guy as John, and also in the business of white collar criminal defense – the same area of practice that saw Tom Wales assassinated shortly after John took his brother’s former job.
Consider also Kate Pflaumer, defender of the corrupt Pine Street parking garage funded with HUD monies while US Attorney under Clinton.
