I don’t know what’s normal and regular, but it’s a little disturbing this guy could get out on $20,000 bond, according to the AP. The judge ordered that he would have to be under curfew, and Wilson can’t have his precious guns. It’s something, anyhow.
The government that Wilson seems to hate so much is treating him with a remarkable amount of leeway, given that he apparently wished to assassinate a U.S. Senator. I’m going to put my full faith in the professionals who have made it their careers to protect the public, and figure they know what they’re doing.
huh spews:
that’s probably 10% down at the Jail Sux bond emporium, quite a deterrent, no?
This whole flight risk concept is … flighty.
Daddy Love spews:
It’s not solely about flight risk. There is also a consideration of their possible danger to civil society. And this wack-job is a danger to himself and others. That bail should have been higher.
Although I found a soft spot in my heart today for the muderous idiot who thought he could threaten Nancy Pelosi without being traceable by LE by using “Magic Jack.”
rhp6033 spews:
I’m wondering if he had been accused of making such a threat against a Bush administration official, if he would have found himself at Gitmo without trial.
GBS spews:
Tell that to the families of the 4 police offers who were gunned down by Maurice Clemons after Republican Governor Mike “I’m soft on police killa’s” Huckabee released him from prison.
If Republican Gov. Huckabee hadn’t been so soft on crime 4 brave officers would be working the beat right now.
“Thanks, but no thanks” **wink, wink** Oh darn, about 50 Republicans just experienced premature ejaculation in their pants at the thought of Sarah Palin winking while 4 agents of the government are assassinated. Teabagger Hutaree Heaven!
The only thing that could make it better is if Mr. Cynical Ass Clown would tell a racist joke at the same time.
Teabagger got busted and who posted bail for Wilson? spews:
“Under terms of Charles Wilson’s release, he will be under curfew from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m., cannot have firearms and can’t use alcohol. “His whereabouts will be monitored electronically, and he is restricted to eastern Washington except for court appearances in Seattle.”
“ Judge Hutton also ordered Wilson not to contact any political officials or attend any political rally.”
“It is believed Wilson had attended at least one tea party rally in Yakima staged outside a Murray speaking engagement in recent weeks.” Seattle Times 4/9/10
Tea baggers and their GOP political hate speech rallies whip to a frenzy their followers and Charles Wilson is one example.
rhp6033 spews:
“…will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?”
William II to his knights, before the murder of Thomas Beckett.
(Yep, I’m going to keep repeating it, over and over.)
TubbyTheTuba spews:
This is being given a big play only because Murry is woefully behind in all the polls…..”They” hope to drum up a little support for the tired old Commie….
KMQ1 spews:
Wishing and having the capability to carry out a threat are two separate issues. I believe the judge evaluated how pathetic this person really was and that, along the fact he’s never been much out of Yakima County, led to his ruling that the threat could be mitigated. Time will only tell if that was the best decision.
That’s not to say that a someone like this couldn’t muster himself up to actually perform the act, but logistically it would be a challenge.
What is scary is that this man, and the others recently caught for making threats, are just the easy ones to spot. How many more are being whipped into a calculated frenzy by falsehoods perpetuated by some tea baggers, Republicans, and Fox News?
rhp6033 spews:
“woefully behind in all the polls…”????
Boy, that’s a REAL knee-slapper!
The Republican’s biggest problem is coming up with a credible candidate who’s willing to get plowed under by the Murray steamroller. She’s burried a lot more credible opposition before. In her last election, in 2004 when Bush was re-elected following 9/11, she still outpolled the opposition 55% to 43%.
Please note that it’s already well into April, there are only seven months left between now and the general election, and two-time loser Dino is the only one with statewide name recognition who’s even remotely considered to be dipping his toe into the water to see if it’s wet. If Dino (or any other major opponant) were serious about challenging Murray, he should have been campaigning and raising money for the better part of the last year. He’s going to need every dime of campaign cash, and Murray has won most elections even after being outspent by her opposition. This time around, her opponant is going to have to do a lot of work to raise enough money to compete with her.
KMQ1 spews:
@7 What polls? ….and the GOP hasn’t picked a sacrificial lamb yet.
Tubby blows gop partisanship out of both ends of his pipes spews:
News: Republican Sympathizer Tuba blows Gop Hot Air.
Post for the rest of us who are more humane: The threat is news regardless of political affiliation.
GBS spews:
This of “astute” observation of reality is why the Republicans are going to get their asses handed to them again this fall. If you could at least spell your opponents name correctly you might have a shot at finishing 15 points behind in the voting.
Moron.

Murray’s play for sympathy has the following results–

N in Seattle spews:
Mr. Wilson’s attorney was provided to him via the government that he appears to hate so much.
IOW, he has a Public Defender.
lauramae spews:
Wilson may be a pathetic loser, but he’s a loser with guns and clearly stated willlingness to see the senator murdered. How far does it go before he’s willing to do it himself? Maybe he is JUST LIKE CLEMMONS because now he’s pissed that he has to answer for his crime.
He’s no different than Maurice Clemmons. It’s tragic that the system didn’t recognize that he was a danger. They seem to be repeating it with this scumbag criminal too.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@7 So, puddy, you support people who threaten to kill U.S. senators? That figures.
Roger Rabbit spews:
@12 Most of the time 15 points is what they get. For example, when Mark Griswold ran against Frank Chopp in 2006, he got whoomped 85% – 15%. So 15% is the percentage of the population that thinks terrorist attacks against innocent American citizens are good politics for the GOP:
“Congratulations Speaker Pelosi, now let the bombs fall where they may. My prediction: terror attack on domestic soil passenger aircraft within the next six months. Casualties in the 2-300 range. And, unfortunately, maybe that’s just what we need. It’s obvious people don’t remember what happened 5 years ago. Posted by FullContactPolitics at November 8, 2006 10:52 AM” (emphasis added)

The judge I believe was a Bush appointee.
don spews:
OMG, Obama is letting terrorists out of jail! He’s coddling terrorists!
Teabagger busted and sprung out of jail spews:
Judge Wilson was a Bush appointee?
Does that explain the get-out-of-jail soon and the low bail bond posting at $20,000?
Who posted bail for tea bagger Charles Wilson?
