Darcy Burner and Dave Reichert debated again this afternoon, and from what I’m hearing, she kicked his ass. Watch for yourself tonight at 7PM, on KCTS Channel 9.
Give us a break Goldstein. She could stand there the whole time totally mute, and with you following your pecker around after her, would still say ‘she kicked his ass’. You are truly pathetic my friend.

Goldy,
I know you have a real stiffy for Darcy, but I’m not sure about her prospects.
You’ve probably seen the articles in the newspaper about how Gregoire smarter than Rossi but is having trouble translating that into votes because Dino, with his trademark shit-eating grin, is more likeable.
I see striking parallels with Darcy–to me, she’s just not likeable. She’s obviously smarter than Reichert (although that’s not saying much), but every time I see her on TV she has this smarmy, talk-down-to-you demeanor that’s really annoying. Reichert’s a dope, but he comes across as an aw-shucks kind of guy you might actually want to have a beer with.
I don’t live in her district, so I guess it doesn’t matter. I’m just sayin’.

I thought we had enough of being governed with somebody we would like to have a beer with.
I agree with you, but the point I’m making is that many people still decide based on likeability instead of how smart and/or qualified the candidate is.
If I lived in her district, I would vote for Darcy. But she just doesn’t come across as likeable, so I wonder how she’ll do in a district that has traditionally gone republican.

I think we want smart, engaging, likable people. It just appears that when we have to choose one or the other, we choose the good personality over the good education. One problem though is, people who are well educated often appear smarter than they are because they speak with an expanded vocabulary. Often they are not any more intelligent they have just wasted too much time and brain capacity memorizing large words.

Did not Christine Gregoire just debate Dino Rossi?
Where is that thread?
The reruns were hilarious.
I have never seen Chris lose her temper so completely, so flustered, so unable to make a cogent point.

Darcy needs a coach. Reichert’s answers were short and easily as cintent-full as hers. Worse she came across as negative in the petty way we see so many on the other side, while he, notably, never went negative against her.
She also played into his strengths, sounding simplistic on the Iraq withdrawal question while he seemed .. well, Obama-esque.
Finally, I noted that many of her answers … while she seemed to have worked on them .. cam across as simplistic while even when he offered bad answers .. e.g. on health care, he seemed more substantial.
All in all, the SJ instantaneous introspective poll says 69 Ross, 30 Burmer, 1 asleep.

Seems late in the day for her to get a coach now.

Goldy aren’t you whining all the time about how bloggers are journalists and should be taken seriously, etc. etc.
Then you post that you heard she won. WOW some incredible journalism there! You HEARD she won.
You may deride Rossi for being favorable with the BIAW but you my friend have a much more destructive association, one with the BIAS.

NEA, WEA, Seattle PI, and now the Seattle Times all agree….Darcy sucks.
Liberal union, liberal papers, endorse the Republican over Goldies obsession. Darcy must really really suck ass to have those unions and papers come out against her.
She is an arsonist raising LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOer!
