While we’re in reporting-the-obvious mode, ooops….
Allegations that Terri Schiavo had been abused or mistreated were international news in the final days of her life. Now the truth is being revealed about those baseless charges, but nobody is paying attention.
Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Judge George Greer ordered the release of nine abuse reports compiled by the Department of Children and Families at the request of the St. Petersburg Times and other news organizations. The reports list 89 complaints between 2001 and late 2004 about Schiavo’s care, including dozens that came in around the time her feeding tube was removed for short periods in 2001 and 2003.
The number of complaints substantiated by state investigators who made unannounced visits to Schiavo: 0.
…
They often praised the care Schiavo received, and they never found Michael Schiavo withheld care from his wife or was discourteous.
So I’m guessing all you self-righteous righties who attacked Michael Schiavo as an abusive monster, are going to take this thread as opportunity to post a sincere apology, right?
Electoral Math spews:
Isn’t this “breaking news” the same way that the CIA report that there weren’t any WMD in Iraq was “breaking news”?
Janet S spews:
He forced his wife to starve to death. What more does it take to be a monster?
Jon spews:
I never put much credit with these abuse allegations, given the amount of attention Terri Schiavo was getting from everybody, and the fact that pretty much anybody can make allegation. What I questioned was the motivations of both the husband and her parents.
Wingo Nut Job spews:
Ha! Ha! Ha! You deflect! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Burn Dean Logan at the stake! Ha! Ha!
Power! Power! My preciousss. We wants it!!!
dj spews:
Janet S @ 2
Michael Schiavo asked the courts to make the decision, and the courts decided. The decision to disconnect the feeding tube was out of Michael Schaivo’s hands. He could not have reversed the court order, even if he wanted to do so.
Janet S spews:
dj @ 5
He fought for years to have the feeding tube removed. He is the one that got the courts to believe that she wanted no life-support. There is absolutely no evidence of this, but he got it accepted as fact. From there on he has blood on his hands. His actions directly caused the death of his wife.
Rick spews:
Goldy, Let’s talk about ANY topic besides how the King Co elections fraud is being exposed. “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”……………
GS spews:
Great news, so I suspect the only abuse we are left with then is the mere occurance of starving the shit out of someone until they die! Well I feel so much better now…!
chardonnay spews:
Where is the Autopsy report? We all want to know how she got so many broken bones. thats the abuse I’m talkin bout.
besides Goldy, the report you are talking about was out more than a week ago.
chardonnay spews:
what a sick thing for you to be excited about Goldy. what if it were your daughter? and one more thing mister, you can only thank the liberal feminazi gals for the way most women are so quick to accuse men of abuse and the lifetime channel.
chardonnay spews:
Rick @ 7
lets talk about dean logans email to ron sims.
Now thats is clearly..
“the straight poop on WA politics and the press.”
looks like Goldy would rather discuss..
“politics as un-usual”
Donnageddon spews:
“liberal feminazi gals ” My Gosh Cheap Whine, I wonder where you get sucvh ideas! Turn off the right wing radio Char, change the channel from FAUX News, perhaps you will become less brain dead than Shiavo was.
chardonnay spews:
don/cybil/alan
will they ever release the autopsy report?
chardonnay spews:
don/ala/cybil
NAG, National Organization for Gals. Are any of these nags republican?
Alan spews:
4 — at last an HONEST wingo.
Alan spews:
Janet S @ 6
So you’re saying a court based a decision on “no evidence,” and that decision was affirmed by a half-dozen other courts (including the U.S. Supreme Court) despite there being “no evidence”? You’re full of shit, my dear.
Alan spews:
Right Wing Mouthpiece @ 7
Umm … Rick darlin … Goldy DID post a thread on Logan’s depo. If you want to sling mud at Goldy, you’ll have to do better than this lameass attempt.
Alan spews:
chards of broken bones @ 9
The types of fractures Schiavo allegedly suffered can be caused by (a) CPR efforts during resuscitation attempts, and (b) prolonged immobilization. This explanation has been in the media for weeks, for those who were paying attention (or not willfully disregarding).
Scott spews:
Yep the righties are concerned about FACTS except when they aren’t. No one believed the crap that was coming from the GOP and it shows in the polls. They got their ass handed to them on this one and it will have long term effects.
Bottom line, there’s one simple way to tell if a rightie is lying – his lips are moving.
Alan spews:
chards of lies @ 10
Why SHOULDN’T Goldy get excited about information that exposes more lies of the Right Wing? I’m excited, too! The autopsy report proves the righty-pseudoreligio-wackos are LIARS and BLOWHARDS! That’s certainly worthy of a thread.
Alan spews:
chards @ 14
You need a lot of nagging. Now go make your bed.
chardonnay spews:
cybil/alan/don
got a link to that autopsy report? and how did she get broken legs from CPR?
chardonnay spews:
Alan/don/cybil
this whole “Alan” kick of yours is so funny.
Jeff B. spews:
With you on this one big time Goldy. It was absolutely appaling to see the religious witch hunt kick into high gear over Schiavo.
I don’t think one Christian commentator had the guts to put themselves in Michael Schiavo’s shoes and understand what an incredibly difficult and yet important decision that he had to make.
And all of the abuse allegation and the “look, see that grunt means that she fully understands everything we are saying” were just over the top. The woman was completely brain dead. That cat scans showed almost nothing where the rest of us have grey matter.
I’ll say it again as I commented a month or so back when this was in the public spotlight: Everyone on the religious right gets very sanctimonious about life, yet what they don’t include in this definition of life is the life of the caretaker that is often shattered by the burden of having to care for a vegetative person on both a physical and emotional level. A fully functioning adult life with the rational capacity to make hard choices deserves a lot more resepct than what the religious right was accusing, and that’s why it is so great to see Michael Schiavo vindicated.
dj spews:
Chardonnay @ 9 writes excitedly,
“Where is the Autopsy report? We all want to know how she got so many broken bones.”
Chardonnay @ 10 writes with indignation
“What a sick thing for you to be excited about Goldy.”
Janet S spews:
Alan – in the original trial, Michael Schiavo argued that his wife didn’t want to live on life support. The family, at this point, had very poor representation, and did not refute that statement. It was therefore entered into the record as fact, and stayed that way ever since. Once entered as such, no other court can overturn it. Thus, every other court had to accept as fact that she did not want life support.
dj spews:
Janet S @ 26
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, legally or about the facts in the case.
chardonnay spews:
ok dj enlighten all of us please.
MS drew a blank on his wifes wishes until 1997. seven years after the collapse.
dj spews:
Chardonnay @ 28
Ummm. . . just go back and read the responses to the last time you stated this:
http://www.horsesass.org/my-co.....ment-17900
Mike spews:
Janet S @ 26 —
1. Michael Schiavo wasn’t the only one who reported his wife’s wishes to the court — there were two others.
2. The parents *were* represented and did *not* simply allow the husband’s claims (or those of the two other witnesses who testified about Terri wanting to die in this typeo of situation) to go unchallenged into the record. Far from it. The mother testified at trial. And you know what? The judge didn’t believe her — and in fact found that the clear and convincing evidence suggested she was wrong (or not telling the truth). And do you know why? For one thing, she reported that she had a conversation w/ Terri Shiavo about life-support etc. when she was about 17-20 years old, because of new reports on Karen Ann Quinlan’s situation. The only problem (as it came out on cross examination) was that the Quinlan news events happened when Terri was 11 or 12. On cross-examination, when showed newspaper clippings, the mother *agreed* that she must have been wrong and that Terri must have been 11 or 12 when she allegedly made those comments. The judge therefore found the mother’s testimony not to have any bearing on what Terri wanted to do as an adult.
3. Don’t take my word for it. And really, really don’t take the word of the wingnuts out there on this, because they’re lying. READ the court’s decision. Here it is. http://abstractappeal.com/schi.....r02-00.pdf
AllHatAndNoHorse spews:
Charwindbag@JustAnyFuckingPlace,
Think about the sanctity of life, as you imagine parents picking up the parts of their childrens bodies, after gwfuckoff, blew them up.
Ah yes, the right wants to err on the side of life, when it amounts to political gain, alright.
I like to picture ol’ chimp, riding one in like slim pickens.

Alan isn’t my real name. Don isn’t my real name either. Nor Cybil. Feel free to use any of them. It will change again, trust me.
All tools here and yet there are still screws loose spews:
I want to see the autopsy report also, Chardonnay has a valid point last time I saw someone give CPR the never toughed a leg in the process.
DamnageD spews:
CheapWhiteWhine@everywhere
I do SO look forward to your expert examination of the autopsy report. Considering your so factual, analytical and experienced in the medical profession (CSI doesn’t count ya know).
I doubt you would know a distal from a radial, a medial from a proximal. All I see you understand is pissing…and alot of that.
But please enlighten us with your findings, i’m sure you’ll find something everybody has missed with out the hassle of all that mess…
chardonnay spews:
dj @ 29, your point?
don/cybil/alan @ 32 no one cares who or WHAT you are. K?
braindamangedD @ 34 where is it & what is the hold up, printer out of toner?
allhatnohead @ 31 um, don’t talk to me don gets mad.
DamnageD spews:
yeah, thats what it is, my printer is broke…i cant print to a blog post. Must be Bush’s fualt, huh? Or maybe its a Demo plot to hide the truth.
Are you for real?
chardonnay spews:
D, why is the ME holding the autopsy report? can YOU call him and ask him to email it to YOU? YOU can really look important if YOU say YOU need it for horsesass.org. LOL
DamnageD spews:
Since i’m not obsessed with this ladies death, I think i’ll wait like everybody else.
And maybe the ME is waiting for freaks like YOU to get over your obsession so the FACTS will prevail.
dj spews:
chardonnay @ 35
At 28 you said:
“ok dj enlighten all of us please. MS drew a blank on his wifes wishes until 1997. seven years after the collapse.”
and I suggested @ 29 that you re-read the responses following the last time you posted this same question.
Does that explain it for ya, ma’am?
AllHatAndNoHorse spews:
CharredBrainCells@AllTalkNoTeeth,
What about the baby parts? Should we pass a law?
Are you concerned about all the little baby parts scattered around iraq, or not? Are these dead babies not up to your interest level?
Are they not as important as dead fetus parts?
I think a 2 year old, trumps 2 month old tissue, dont you?
So wheres the horror, im waiting.
Full of shit, you are.
DamnageD spews:
well considering the FAUX news dosent show any dead babies, or the real images of war, why would your stories about parts elicit a response from the ole sandy vagina?
chardonnay spews:
dj @ 39, I don’t care what you said. The facts remain.
allhatnohead @ 40 Sadam killed Iraqi children intentionally we did not.
***** NEWS FLASH*****
nohatdipshit, it is not ’tissue’ at 2 months, there are visible features of a human body and a heartbeat. have you seen the ultra sound of a 8 week fetus? the ‘raspberry’ excuse has been debunjed. Like I suggested earlier see http://www.silentscream.org and listen to the Dr. explain wht he no longer supprts NARAL.
Think about abortionists, they extract a fetus for a couple hundred bucks. they turn around and sell the various body parts for thousands. Big return on one baby, the more you extract the better the day you have financially. So ‘HAT’ how can we keep that cashflow going?
chardonnay spews:
http://www.silentscreams.org
You need to watch the videos by Dr Nathanson. otherwise you just sound ignorant when using the word “tissue” to describe a fetus.
HEART IS BEATING (SINCE 18-25 DAYS)
BRAIN WAVES HAVE BEEN RECORDED AT 40 DAYS
THE BABY SQUINTS, SWALLOWS, AND CAN MAKE A FIST
THE BABY HAS FINGERPRINTS AND CAN KICK
THE BABY IS SENSITIVE TO HEAT, TOUCH, LIGHT AND NOISE
THE BABY SUCKS HIS OR HER THUMB
ALL BODY SYSTEMS ARE WORKING
THE BABY WEIGHS ABOUT 1 OUNCE AND IS 2 1/2 TO 3 INCHES LONG
THE BABY COULD FIT COMFORTABLY IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND
it’s called life. you should concern yourself with the innocent unborn. go watch the video’s, view the ultra sounds, listen to Dr Nathanson and then we can talk.
torridjoe spews:
chard @ 43
what does the fact that it’s living, have to do with the fact that government should have no right to violate the right of the mother to control her own body? You can’t protect a fetus without taking away the mother’s rights.
AllHatAndNoHorse spews:
ChardsOfReality@42,43,
So ‘HAT’ how can we keep that cashflow going?
Comment by chardonnay
you could go help monkeyshrub, pick up baby pieces in iraq.
sound interesting?
While disconnecting governments hand from your purse, try pulling it out of womens’ vaginas while you’re there.
DamnageD spews:
@ 43
So does your passion for the unborn continue once they’ve left the uterus? What about the life on the other side of the world? Do you really believe the “shock and awe” only targeted buildings? Is that life still so precious when it doesn’t agree with you, accept your beliefs or lifestyle?
You’re treading dangerously close to full blown hypocrite. Ya can’t value one life over another just to suit your agenda.
christmasghostpast spews:
lol, chard was born over the line
DamnageD spews:
and I see she has good explaination for her posititon as well. I wont loose any sleep waiting for that.
dj spews:
DamnageD @ 46
“So does your passion for the unborn continue once they’ve left the uterus?”
The “Culture of lifers” limit their concern to preserving (1) the life of the unborn and (2) life of the almost dead.
They have no problem killing young people in the prime of their lives by sending them into optional wars.
Likewise, they care nothing about preserving the lives of young girls who they force into getting dangerous back-alley abortions.
What duplicitous assholes.
DamnageD spews:
dj-
ya drove my point home, way to go tiger!
dj spews:
DamageD @ 50
Happy to lend a hand! :-)
Kathleen spews:
The autopsy just goes to show that her doctors were right. The woman died of a heart attack brought on by anorexia nervosa. The primary cause of that disease is having no control over one’s own life, like growing up with her controlling parents. She should have died 15 years ago, but her parents managed to go against her wishes and keep her alive for a decade and a half (controlling?). Her parents, in an effort to control her life fuirther, brought in the governor, the congress and the president to try to keep controlling Terri’s life right up to the moment of her death and THEN had the audacity to make funeral arrangements for her even though her next of kin (remember, a husband?) had made arrangements in keeping with her wishes. This poor woman had to go through years of suffering and die just to get away from her controlling parents. Enjoy your eternity, Terri, and maybe your parents will go to hell where they belong and your eternity can be free.
