Las Vegas
The red sign is a Walgreen’s.

Thanks. It’s impossible to know how many people are actually trying to find these, but I’d like to think there are some lurkers who give it a shot once in awhile. I use Bing and Google maps daily for another web site, so I sometimes have a hunch that pays off with Lee’s contests.
This week, the red sign fooled me. I didn’t know it was Walgreens until after I found it. I thought it was a “V” logo of some sort (ie Valvoline). Wasted a few minutes googling V logos.
Gave up on the sign mystery and realized the area looked like Phoenix to me, but there are not too many angled intersections in Phoenix. The city’s roads are mostly a square grid. Gave up on Phoenix after looking at about a dozen angled intersections.
My second guess was Vegas. The angle of the Strip caught my eye on the map right away (face palm), and seconds later… bingo. Google’s Street View showed me the old Walgreen’s logo with the pestle.

@2 I try to win these, and I actually won once, but I’m only a dumb rabbit who can’t read a Google Earth map.

I like Walgreens. Doubled my money in 18 months. Free money! Sure beats working for it. I’m gonna sleep in ’til noon again tomorrow.
