Last week’s contest was won by Geoduck. It was Valparaiso, Chile.
Normally, the third Sunday of the month has been a location in Washington state, but I feel like I’m looking at the same views over and over again to find a good contest location. So starting this weekend, we’ll go state-by-state, where the images can be a little tougher, but for a smaller geographical area. This week’s is in Alabama, good luck!

My first thought was that it is a shopping mall. But that isn’t a parking lot. The building in the foreground has skylights over an atrium of sorts,
Is there an auto proving or testing ground in Alabama?
Roger Rabbit spews:
It looks like a racetrack for semis.

It looks like a racetrack for semis. And that thing in the center does look like a putting green. I’m not sure what those diamond-shaped things in the left foreground are, but Jesus’ mother may be buried under one of them. And at top, we have the mother of all mobile homes. Only in Alabama would you find a place like this.
Roger Rabbit spews:
Maybe it’s just a place where they dumped unused asphalt and then kids flatten it out with their skateboards.

Hyundai factory, Montgomery, AL

I didn’t notice the unusual parking grid lines at the top of the photo until after answering. I might have made the connection to it being an auto plant.
I like the idea of a new state search each month, Lee. You’ll be able to find more interesting areas.

There is a small auto test track along the north side of the factory.

Good win!

I propose a contest, one week each reader gets to submit a photo, one prize awarded for the most correct answers, and one prize awarded for the best “Bird’s Eye View” as voted by the contest participants.
The rules would be simple each participant can submit one aerial photo, but must enter a guess for every other entry (except their own of course)
First prize: bragging rights
Second prize: fewer bragging rights
Third Prize: You’re not getting anything

There’s a lot I like about this idea. Definitely thinking about it.
