Last week’s contest was won by Coosboy. It was the roundabout pictured in the opening credits of the British version of The Office in Slough, England.
This week’s contest is a location somewhere in Washington state. Good luck!

It’s not THIS ONE in Beverly Park, Seattle.
Ludicrus Maximus spews:
It’s in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood; the block between 38th W and 39th W and between W Dravus and W Prosper.

Ludicrus beat me to it.
I used to walk up there with my friends and stand around for a while, and then walk back home.
Magnolia: As thrilling as it sounds.

It looks a lot like another one up on a ridge in a near-Seattle neighborhood (one I can’t recall the name of), but that isn’t unusual, because the tanks are the same utility green color, size, etc. An ariel photo (she’s looking UP from underwater), of such a scale as to highlight by depth of focus-enhancement, water tanks of the same era and similar altitudes/attitudes, etc. I think they would line up vertically pretty well and there is rarely anything up there with them (dur.)
What is/where are the highest resolution satellite photos available for no charge to a layman? Are digital focus mechanisms fully accessible? Where does military classification lie? hm Does this count as “searching” for the answers? [i.e., if I’m told to “search”; that’s what I’m doin’] Some pictures are worth 1,000 words. Others, not so much.
So it appears I have no answers, only questions.

I wish I could say it was all skill, but this one was pure luck.
When I first looked at the photo I thought it must be in eastern WA because it looked too dry for Seattle. Nonetheless, I searched Google for water towers in Seattle.
It turns out there is a group of cyclists that does a “Tour de Water Tower” bike ride. In a blog entry they had a link that used Google maps to map many of the city’s water towers. At that point, it was just scanning the photos to find the one that matched.

I grew up on Magnolia. A couple of my closest childhood friends lived a block away from that thing.
It took me a second or two, though, to remember that the tank is now painted blue, instead of the silver aluminum paint it wore back in the day. It used to look like the Kalakala on stilts.
