Last week’s contest was a tricky one, but after a few days, Blue John came up with the correct location. It was the home in Dublin, CA that was accidentally pelted with a cannonball courtesy of the show “Mythbusters”.
This week’s contest is a location within Washington state, good luck!

Had to be freshwater, from the small amount of play possible for the ramps, no evidence of tidal action, & weeds growing down to the waterline — likewise, not a reservoir with a lot of water-level fluctuation. Big construction barges pretty much put it on the navigable rivers: Columbia or Snake. With enough people to want new marinas, it must’ve been Vancouver or Tri-Cities.

Nice win! Been busy all day, just finally got some time to check in.

I’ve been defecting to Google Earth for the puzzler at The Atlantic’s “Where in the World” puzzle. The images are straight form Google Earth. The problem with this one is that the answers are right after image #25. Another problem is that searching on text from clues sometimes gives links to someone else’s solutions.
A second puzzle from November has multiple-choice clues, & thus isn’t so hard, & doesn’t lead to major explorations of the globe.
