Last week’s contest was won by Right Stuff. He didn’t get the exact location, but he was within a few blocks and he guessed correctly that it was a Solyndra building in Fremont, CA.
This week’s contest is a random location somewhere in the world, good luck!
Roger Rabbit spews:
It’s obviously a seaside amusement park. My gut instinct says it’s not in Norway because there are sunbathers on the beach.
uptown spews:
Hmmm, driving on the left. Kanji character on the ground in upper left corner. Could be Japan? Though I haven’t been able to find it.
wes.in.wa spews:
@2: I’m not seeing the yellow thing as Kanji. I’m not likely to look anywhere but the British isles. Seems like this kind of seaside amusement park is particularly British.
wes.in.wa spews:
Aberdeen, Scotland. HERE
Lauramae spews:
How do you do that?
wes.in.wa spews:
@5: I was pretty sure it was British, because of the left-side-driving. Looked at towns on the british coast where there are amusement parks (brighton, blackpool, lots of others), and none of them even had the right lighting, when zoomed down to the bird’s eye view. So I thought what the heck, I’ll go north from England into Scotland. And at Aberdeen, there it was.

Good win!
wes.in.wa spews:
It’s largely Codona’s Aberdeen Beach Amusement Park. The building on the lower right is TGI Friday’s.
wes.in.wa spews:
@1: btw, it’s almost Norway.
uptown spews:
I didn’t even know that Aberdeen had an Amusement Park. Of course it was pissing down with rain the few times I’ve been there, so I wasn’t exactly looking for one.
