Definitely private, because no public agency has money for such luxurious digs, and probably related to the medical industry, because no other industry (except maybe oil) is so awash in money extracted from unwilling consumers’ pockets.
In other words, what I’m saying is, health care and the oil industry both enjoy monopoly pricing power in non-competitive markets, which enables them to live large when it comes to spending money on facilities.

On the other hand maybe it’s a fancy-shmantzy art museum or symphony hall paid for by some rich fucker who cornered the market in oil or cancer treatment.

Holy Crap! I couldn’t have written a better indictment of this Presidents wasteful spending if I tried…. Thanks Roger for proving the point.

Yep, it’s Solyndra, but your view is a little off. The address you found was their new headquarters (which wasn’t even built yet when Bing took the bird’s eye photo).

As for the public/private investment, you and Roger are making distinctions that don’t exist. Solyndra had both public and private investors, so to say they’re a representation of one type of investment over the other is silly. They were a company with an unworkable business model, and both the White House and their private investors were foolish to put so much into them.
Both Google and Halliburton have really nice facilities, even though one company is totally private and other completely lives off government contracts.
And Right Stuff, I’m pretty sure you’re smart enough to know that wasteful spending isn’t the provenance of Democratic presidents alone.

@4 how about indicting a Corporation, run by a Republican, for taking advantage of the Taxpayer, and misleading their government on their solvency, really shows you their patriotism. Maybe they will start to boo an American Service member too.
Of all the injustices to whine about, I can’t believe no heterosexual has whined about tossing your patriotism aside because a guy is gay and all he wants to do is fight for his Country, fight for some Republican asshole(CEO of Solyndra)to screw his Country .

While you’re at it, why don’t you write something about his predecessor’s wasteful spending, too. It seems to be contagious.

ok, this is the location of another 38,000 lunch location (for people to pay for the right to talk to the president)
What a waste! We could have gotten almost half a B-1 bomber for that kind of money, or paid off a couple of Iraqi tribal chiefs for a month. Our bankers can make 500 million dollars disappear while I’m having my cornflakes and nobody notices.
