When I see something that ugly and forlorn looking I think of one of those me-too casinos.
But on closer look this appears to be a drive-in fast food joint.

No Bible lesson today? No trolls. The Rabbit is off humping Mrs Rabbit and God is who she is, and all I hear is a tune off in the distance, is that The Specials? Yes- Do you remember the good old days
Before the ghost town?
We danced and sang,
And the music played inna de boomtown

Not the right movie, but the appropriate level of sophistication.

Not Good Burger, either.

wes.in.waspews:
Also not the BK in North Bend that’s a location in The Vanishing

an apartment complex near seattle raided by pakistani special forces to take out a leader of planned parenthood?

wes.in.waspews:
a few thoughts:
* the evergreen in the parking strip puts me in mind of northern tier states or Canada.
* lots of movie & TV location work in Canada.
* the BK logo (if that’s what it is) looks to be the old horizontal one, which was replaced in 1999.
* It’s not in great shape, and not busy. Economically depressed and/or less-populated area?
* The sign on the parking strip doesn’t look like standard franchise signage. Maybe not a chain store at all?
* The street name, *th Rd? Or something maybe not a “th” at all?
* blue striping for the handicapped parking spaces … not just the emblem. Who does that?

More: lots of major roads labeled “Rd” in western Ontario. Also, numbered Rds (“56th Rd”, etc) near NYC.

The location is Burger King, 1876 South Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY. I don’t know what film or tv show the location is related to. I can’t see BK in the image and relied on the clues provided by wes.in.wa.

wes.in.waspews:
@17: Hooray! So what did you do, grind through all the BK’s in NY? Impressive!
Farley Mowat @10 said BK … I blew up the picture and couldn’t quite be sure, but it kept feeling to me like a BK, even though the color scheme isn’t current.
Here’s Google Maps’ STREET VIEW. BK Logo is the new one; oh well.
So, what movie or TV connection?

I guessed the road might be North or South Rd. I googled Burger King on North Rd and South Rd, and the answer came up. Others did the heavy lifting. I can’t see BK in the image.

@19 :gives myself a dope-slap: Of course! I hadn’t thought of looking for North Rd or South Rd. And just going through “th Rd” was impossible. Nice.
@17
Nice win! This had to be the hardest one I’ve done – maybe ever.
@21
Yep, that’s it. Super Troopers, a cinematic masterpiece.

wes.in.waspews:
@21 I give myself credit for looking for the location of Hellaburger, and a Toxic Avenger sequel that had Poughkeepsie locations, but that’s really obscure. Very nice!
