Last week’s contest was won by Liberal Scientist. It was the futuristic house from the movie Sleeper, located just west of Denver along I-70. It was sold at a foreclosure auction last week.
From now on the third Sunday of every month will be specific to Washington, so this week’s photo is a random location somewhere in this state, good luck!
Jeez – this one’s tough – I’m missing any distinguishing characteristics. Could be any halfway affluent neighborhood anywhere.

The location felt kind of familiar; turns out it’s about 3 blocks from where my kids used to live. Other than that, just a random arterial turning on a west-sloping upper-middle neighborhood in puget sound country. Could be Des Moines, Edmonds … well, that’s all I looked at.
Huh. I couple of years ago I spent too much time driving past that location over and over, salivating over a house for sale 4 down from the pic. Decided I couldn’t afford it.
This was my only chance to win this thing, and I blew it!
