I love football. And ice hockey. Two fairly brutal sports. But can we please stop presenting professional athletes as role models?

Yes, it’s just an “allegation,” but would it be a surprise if an athlete celebrated (and fabulously rewarded) for violence on the field, has trouble switching off “beast mode” in his private life?
particularly when part of his “beast mode” is pharmaceutically produced?
Theses guys are managed and manipulated to produce an effect on a game. When the sports powers are done with them, a lot of them end up in crappy situations, with low prospects of getting above subsistence level. That guy, Refrigerator Perry, was cast aside, and it didn’t turn out so well for him.
Please tell interested parties like that pro athletes rarely live up to any expectations of being “role models”.
