It’s Monday, baby! Time to start another incredible week. A week that you have got.
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

The investment in drug treatment in Seattle has been so lacking for so long that anything feels like a major thing. I hope it’s more successful than the nothing most people who overdose get now.

All this week, fuck the sun. It’s too hot. More gray pleez. More gray.
But seriously, drink a lot of water. Keep drinking. More than you think you need. Now a bit more than that. Fill it up with ice if that’s something you can do at work, or wherever you are. Just glug glug glug it down. You’re doing great!
And hey, while you’re listening to me dispensing rudimentary life advice, please get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

80 to 90 or more is too many degrees. Western Washington, what? Stay hydrated over the weekend and beyond.
And for goodness sake, get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

If it’s Wednesday, it’s Carl is talking about his bus trip home from Drinking Liberally. I know it’s very complicated, but man is it annoying when it says 6 minutes away for 10 minutes. Is it traffic? Is it technical issues? Is it one of those things where the drivers switch in the middle of the route, but something happened?

If I trusted Seattle Police to act well, the South Precinct memo described here would be pretty benign. Your partner is speeding “hey slow down, man” is probably a better response than making a formal complaint.*
But many people don’t trust the police. I don’t know if they’re just doing it for minor things or if things that need to be corrected are being handled internally or at all. A department where no offers could take down rapist Donald Trump’s flag or gravestone of people who offers shot probably won’t be able to correct bad behavior.
* I have never been a cop or OPA. So who am I?

Good morning you lovelies (and some weirdos and jerks). I hope you’re doing well. I am probably going to be low-energy around here through August, but I will post open threads.
But good news! You can get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Family stuff ahead, so who knows if I post even less frequently, more erratically. Annnyway.
I love taking the bus. Last night coming home from Drinking Liberally, it was the best! A group of 50 something women having a night on the town got on and were aggressively trying to flirt with the bus driver. “Oh he’s my favorite driver, he can take me anywhere.” Delightful.
Also, and this was 10:30, some teens hop on. Too much time in the summer, but good for them finding things to do. Being able to hang out. Taking the free for them bus Downtown.
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Finally some dang rain. It was drizzling in Downtown Seattle earlier today when I was walking to work. It’s been more than a month, so good. I hope we can stay cool and that some of the plants can get a drink. Ideally Seattle summer would have one good rainy day a week.
Anyway, please wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Oh goodness. Traffic is going to be a mess in Seattle this weekend. But I hope Taylor Swift’s fans have a blast. And Capitol Hill Block Party goers have a blast. And Bite of Seattle people enjoy it. Some places will be bad to drive and public transportation might be the least comfortable since the pandemic. But you man what a vibrant city.
Anyway, for goodness sake, wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.

Have you received your ballot yet? Me too. Have you voted yet? Me either. But fortunately, there are voters guides. Fortunately, there are voter guides.
– My go to since I could vote has been The Stranger. Even though the staff has turned over multiple times, it’s still a good source for Seattle area elections.
– Fuse has a Progressive Voters Guide. It’s always useful.
– If you’re more interested on specific issues, Pro-Choice Washington has a guide.
– And Seattle Bike Blog has a list of relevant endorsements.
– And I fully endorse wash your hands right now and get vaccinated or boosted if you’re eligible.
