According to the AP, it’s over:
Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, becoming the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House.
[…] The AP tally was based on public commitments from delegates as well as more than a dozen private commitments. It also included a minimum number of delegates Obama was guaranteed even if he lost the final two primaries in South Dakota and Montana later in the day.
Good. Now we can get on to the business of kicking John McCain’s ass.
correctnotright spews:
According to the drug addict, Rush Limbaugh, Obama’s “only chance of winning is that he is black”. Looks like the racist commentary from the republicans is starting…expect to see more of this type of invective from the party of Willie Horton and the “southern strategy”.
Republicans dare to stoop below any level of decency in order to smear Obama. Note that very little of this has any “substance” – such as where Obama stands on the issues – except that he is “too liberal”. I almost feel sorry for the republicans in their feeble attempts at a critique.

ooooooooooooooo…BAMA!

unfortunately Senator MCCain, as a result of his war injuries, is not abled to “do” the new wave.
ooooooooooooooo…BAMA!

My personal favorite idiotspeak from Limpjaw is that he claims Obama stutters when he goes off the teleprompter – guess Limbaugh hasn’t seen the 500 or so campaign speeches he gave with NO NOTES and NO teleprompter.
Limbaugh is just an idiot. To think he loves and adores Bush and thinks that Bush is anywhere near Obama in ability to speak or in intelligence?
Remember – Bush could not even get into law school – even with all the advantages of Yale and Daddy. Obama was the editor of the law review – ’nuff said.
Steve spews:
The fact remains, there’s just no good reason to vote for a Republican these days. Kind of a shame, really.
John Barelli spews:
CNN is now saying that the Clinton campaign “is “absolutely not” prepared to concede the race for the Democratic presidential nomination“.
I’m expecting that they will claim that until the delegates and superdelegates have actually voted at the convention, that she still has the option of campaigning to get them to switch their votes.
So, she can continue to work against Senator Obama until the actual floor vote at the convention, while claiming that anyone that opposes her does so out of sexism.
It’s looking very much as if Senator Clinton is in McCain 2008/Clinton 2012 mode.

NASA has announced that the shovel may have found life on Mars. A small clot of ice, raised ny the shovel, was melted on a thermal stage. The camera showed what appeared to be worm, wriggling free and rapidly moving our of frame.
NASA scientists said that ti was premature to
conclude that this was evidence of life.
In the meantime, Mrs Clinton announced that she was “greatly excited by NASA’s discovery of life on Mars. As a result I plan not to concede until the Martian vote is counted.

You are SO cute (pats silly little child like Republican on the head)
YellowPup spews:
@13-14: Agreed. Given the damage that the next president will have to start to reverse, Obama is going to have his work cut out for him–and no pressure that he will be the first black president.
The nomination fight showed that he has the intelligence, inspiration, discipline, and determination to do the job though. The advantage of a close and protracted nomination fight is that we really got to understand the candidates’ leadership styles, and a lot of obvious controversies about Obama, for example, have already been milked out by the legacy media to make people bored with them. The inoculation value of this remains to be seen, of course, depending on what BS the RNC has been gathering and holding in reserve.
Though McCain is doing his best to look out of touch with reality and a bit crazy, it seems that most of his negative press lies ahead of him.

As your idiocy is likely the product of your DNA and, accordingly, not your fault, I suppose it would be unfair to criticize you for your idiocy. On the other hand, putting your idiocy on display is something within your control. So, Peabrain, go express your thoughtlessness on some wingnut site where you can feel at home.
Steve spews:
@16 That’s rich – a Bush/McCain ass-licker making fun of Obama’s speaking style. You’re gonna have to bring a lot more than that if you guys hope to minimize your losses come November. But I think that’s all you’ve got. I look forward to seeing your head explode come November. It should truly be a sight to see.
John Barelli spews:
Senator Clinton’s official blog is not only denying that she will concede, but they are busy beating the “we wuz robbed” drum.
Apparently the moderators from her campaign are not allowing any pro-Obama (ok, maybe that’s reasonable) or even any “let’s come together as a party” posts.
Yesterday, President Clinton stated that he probably wouldn’t be doing any more campaigning this year.
It’s official. The Clintons are supporting Senator McCain, hoping to run again in 2012.

So Hillary now is open to VP (after all the crap she has pulled) so she can say “look at me, if it weren’t for me, Obama wouldn’t have won the Whitehouse”
I know the man is smart enough to see that dig a mile away!
rhp6033 spews:
YellowPup @ 22: Considering the damage which has been done over the last eight years, I expect that Obama will have to spend the first two years, AT LEAST, cleaning up the mess.
In the meantime, Rove and his minions over in the GOP are ALREADY writing their sound bites and press releases, preparing to blame Obama for our current situation and the natural results thereof. They won’t even bother listening to the question from the press, they will just begin their recitation of the “sound bite of the day” about how good things were under Bush & Co. and how Obama is ruining the country.
Expect it, and crush such idiots under a mountain of ridicule.
Speaking of ridicule, have you noticed how Bush & Co.’s response to the McClellan revelations have been simply to call him names? Yesterday the current Press Secretary pretty much called him incompetent in dealing with the news about the Iraq war – as if it was just a “public relations” problem, which could have been solved if the right spin was put on it.
God, please save us from these small-minded, vengefull, idiots.
YellowPup spews:
@30: Yes, two years just to slow the bleeding, then however many afterwards to heal. Maybe it will take a generation.
The Republicans will try to blame Obama for the mess when he gets into office, but it’s too early for them to try to say that things were just great under Bush. People will be stung from the 00s for at least a presidential term or two.
It took Reagan 15-20 years for people to forget his performance as president and suggest that he was great, so I suspect that when the kids being born now are old enough to vote, someone will the nerve to suggest that we had it all wrong about Bush.
ArtFart spews:

Steve spews:
@35 Oh, stop with the whining, troll. Enough! How about you give us one reason, just one reason, to vote for a Republican this year.
Steve spews:
@35 Oh, by the way, Piper says that you’re a coward because you don’t put your real name out there for us. Are you gonna take that from him?
My Left Foot spews:
Rick D,
I am not sure what planet you are from,or, in what alternate reality you are living in. Obama leads over McCain in every national poll that I have seen.
The price of gas and food and transportation (flying) and the war are going to sink him. Obama will win this election going away.
You keep mentioning Obama’s speech mechanics. McCain has the voice of a little old lady. No power, no change in cadence, no confidence and certainly no substance. He is on the tube right now disavowing his close association with Bush. Claiming he is a change agent. The only thing that will change is the name on the desk.
I know you are in the middle of an emotional breakdown right now but you have to face facts……McCain can not beat Mr Potato Head in November.
President Barack Obama. Get used to it.
Moe-ron!!
Steve spews:
@38 “Get used to it.”
Sorry, Foot, but I’m afraid that their heads will explode long before they find acceptance. Although some might find refuge in a state of denial. I’m not going to be the one to tell them that delusions have a lousy future. For some, it’s all they have anymore.
President Obama. Sounds good. Get used to it, trolls.

@40 That’s some weak shit you bring today. How about telling us at least one good reason to vote for a Republican this year – any Republican. Apparently this is quite the challenge as no troll has been able to come up with a single reason yet. Take a shot at it. Let’s see what you’ve got.
Rick D. spews:
@ 41
That’s an easy one. The biggest reason is……they’re better than the alternative socialist/neo-Marxist agenda.
I hope I didn’t get you out from under your bridge for that simple answer did I, Steve?
Did you watch the video by the way? or does the truth scare you?
ByeByeGOP spews:
