Lou Dobbs running for president against Sarah Palin? It’s Dunny-on-the-Wold, S Baldrick for president!

tienlespews:
He named his daughter Hillary?! That shouldn’t surprise me I suppose given his infatuation with the Clintons. Seriously…he wants to run for President? In 2012? Wow. From what State could he run for Senate?
Probably Florida. And this election cycle proves that absolutely anyone can win an election in that state if they have the money.

Mr. Cynicalspews:
The article only lists “anonymous” sources…supposedly fearful of being deported for violating the law. The issue is obviously a fair one to raise…but the timing, like maid Nicky, is suspicious.
You KLOWNS are convicting Dobbs based on anonymous sources disclosed in a lunatic left-wing rag without hearing Dobbs response.
You sound desperate once again.
Maybe Dobbs is guilty…maybe not.
Where is the due process you KLOWNS are always screaming for?
Where is the outrage toward those who knowingly violated our laws to sneak in??
Do these people really exist?
Eventually they will need to come forward as criminals if this is tho stick.

Geovspews:
@3 Incumbent Bill Nelson (D-FL) comes up for reelection in 2012. In Vermont, Dobbs’ other home, it’s Bernie Sanders, who’d be much harder to replace unless he retires.
6
Mr. Cynicalspews:
Geoff-
Nelson has given hints he will not run.
Would be a great chance for Dobbs if that’s the case. Dobbs would likely be the favorite against any other Dem.
@4 The issue is obviously a fair one to raise…but the timing, like maid Nicky, is suspicious.
Why? Dobbs isn’t running for anything right now. The only thing suspicious about the timing is why it took so damn long for someone to look into this.

Cynny @ 4 spews: “You sound desperate once again.”
Does any sane person perceive anything about this Dobbs piece to reflect “desperation” on anyone’s part? Cynny, your meme is so repetitious and so vapid. You are truly the most boring troll who posts here. Congratulations.

If you employee housekeepers, landscapers and have a stable of horses cared for and upkeep done by others…you employee illegal immigrants. What? That Mexican guy who doesn’t speak of word of English and cleans your horse shit for $5 an hour, you didn’t KNOW he was illegal or even suspect? Yeah….right. Bulls**t. Wink wink nudge nudge…say no more.

Ah yes, that explains it. No one should have to deal with stress at that level.

Wow, a rich guy in Florida employing illegals. Shocking!
Doing research to “prove” that Dobbs is a lying sack of shit is like doing research to prove that gravity is real.

Michaelspews:
This, on the other hand, is real research, really creepy, and needs some daylight shone on it:
Some of the most powerful people in America today — reportedly including Governors like South Carolina’s Mark Sanford and Senators like South Carolina’s Jim DeMint and Congressmen like Michigan’s Bart Stupak — belong to a secretive, fundamentalist Christian organization called The Fellowship or The Family. Author Jeff Sharlet told PRI’s The Takeaway that the group represents a “large, elite fundamentalism that most people don’t pay attention to.”
……
The group’s influence also extends to Uganda, where it has been “promoting the most drastic, most draconian anti-gay bill in the world,” according to Sharlet. The bill tries to apply the death penalty for homosexuality, and prescribes sentences of 3 years in prison for knowing a gay person and not reporting that person to the police.
When asked about the Ugandan anti-gay bill, a supporter told Sharlet, there is “no connection, it is the Family. We wrote it.”

Not a bunch of folk that I’m super familiar with, but they do seem rather creepy and there’s more than a few very powerful folks involved.

The article on Dobbs pointed out that the corporation which holds his copyrights also owns his daughter’s horses, and possibly the title to the stables, barns, practice tracks, and grazing fields.
Sounds like a typical tax-dodge of the wealthy. Hide your income in a corporate shell, then arrange to have a lot of your personal expenses paid through the corporation. In this case, his daughter’s hobby, which from all appearances is an extraordinarily expensive one (five million-dollar plus horses, plus crews to take care of them, are paid out of his pre-tax earnings.
Of course, if he tried to submit a “hobby expense” as a personal tax deduction, it would be disallowed. But he’s trying to make it look like it’s a family-owned business, and all the deductions are business expenses. It’s easier to do with a corporation than it is with a personal return.
I’ve seen it done a lot. Like the guy I knew in Marysville who had a small business with ten employees, but needed a company-owned yacht parked at the local marina, all expenses paid by the company, for “entertaining potential clients”, he says with a wink. We went out with him on the yacht once, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how we would have been potential clients of his concrete drilling business.
The applicable tax rate is just part of the battle. Lots of wealthy people have tax advisors, accountants and lawyers, to make sure their personal taxable income comes in at near zero. Like Leona Helmsely said, “taxes are for the little people”. Apparantly she was so accostomed to the servants being the “invisible” little people, that it never occured to her that one would talk to the IRS.

The point of the article is to call Dobbs on his hypocrisy that even though you hire a contractor, it is your job to make sure the contractor doesn’t hire illegals. His bleached tooth rantings on CNN made no exception for Dobbs’excuse-making. His argument is “how would I know?” And the Nation’s response is “Exactly. How would you know?”
Dobbs is a typical conservative. The rules and standards apply to everyone else but him.

I saw Dobbs on O’Reilly’s program last night. They played a radio clip of Isabel MacDonald and Dobbs discussing her article in The Nation alleging Dobbs hired illegal aliens for one of his horse farms in Kentucky. At the end of the clip, MacDonald finally answered Dobbs question whether or not he, Dobbs, had hired illegal aliens, and MacDonald told the truth and said “no.” It was subcontractors Dobbs was using to do such things as keeping the grounds neat and cleaning the stables that were hiring illegal aliens. After all, American are too good for such work and would prefer some sort of government check rather than cleaning-up horse shit.
Dobbs may be a flaming asshole, but he got one of those liberal elitist arrogant bitches to admit she was lying in her article in The Nation about Dobbs hiring illegal aliens.
For Isabel MacDonald: Why not just tell the fucking truth and forget your fucking ideology for once?
