Maybe we can get to 1,090 signatures. Who knows?

Hmmm, 1090 would not be good…that would mean I need to find another entertainment venue for my drives home. I remember listening to Goldstein during the Hannukah storm and all he talked about was: Cats are a Connoisseur of warmth (about 10 times in so many minutes…I kid you not)
Mentioned Randy Rhoades last night blasting the Clinton campaign for complaining about Shuster and having him suspended by MSNBC.
Today Ed Schulz was doing the same, people called in about McCartyism and that Shusters suspension was just plain wrong. (I immediately figured Roger is getting a hernia).
Then Schulz said: If Schuster gets suspended, Olbermann should be too….
This is fun….left hand is starting to complain about the other left hand….
:-)

I already signed 700 times using Diebold voting machines. Damn, it shitty acting like a Republican shyster.

#3 GBS says:
You sure did good for not being a republican. You’ve got some previous shyster experience haven’t you? Oops, you’re a democrat, of course you do.
Ever go to house.gov/ethics and compare the number of democrats to republicans?
Richard Pope spews:
We need a thread for the Potomac primary results. Exit polls are predicted as much as 2-to-1 blowout in favor of Obama. White voters in Virginia split evenly between Clinton and Obama — a bad sign for Clinton placing her hopes on racial voting by Whites in the March 4 primaries in Ohio and Texas. Huckabee might just pull off an upset against McCain in Virginia.
Where is our dedicated thread?
Don Joe spews:
@ 4
Ever go to house.gov/ethics and compare the number of democrats to republicans?
The membership is five Democrats and five Republicans. Is that supposed to be a problem for Democrats?
If you weren’t talking about committee membership, then, by all means, be more specific. Provide link.
DustinJames spews:
@ 5 – Polls going in to today showed Virginia 60%-38%, advantage Obama.
Maryland and DC were roughly the same margins.
And actually, Clinton is pinning any racial hopes on splitting whites, getting women, and getting Latinos, not so much getting whites. Upper class and middle upper class whites have been voting for Obama since the first primaries and caucuses…
GBS spews:
MS @ 4:
You just ought to be glad that Nancy Pelosi is THE most spineless Speaker of the House in our nation’s history.
“Drain the swamp” Yeah, bull shit.
DustinJames spews:
Also, while there is no doubt that Obama will win Maryland, bad weather in that state is a big advantage to Clinton since older voters who go for clinton tend to mail in their ballots.
GBS spews:
Huckabee is leading McCain in VA.
Shit, this is a classic!!
The Huck-ster is virtually mathematically eliminated and he still beats McCain in the RED states and now newly trending BLUE states.
I don’t care how you spin it, this is foreshadowing D-E-F-E-A-T for the Republicans in 2008.
DustinJames spews:
Buchanan County in Virginia shows Obama’s problem with reaching the working class. Wikipedia says:
And the county as gone 90% Clinton, 9% Obama.
DustinJames spews:
Actually, looking over the county by county results that have reported over 50% results… there’s a lot of counties like Buchanan that are strongly going for Clinton that fit that same demographic.
Counties with high african american populations and better incomes are going for Obama, and counties where the opposite is true – Clinton is doing much better.
DustinJames spews:
@ 10 – McCain just passed Huckabee…
GBS spews:
DJ @ 11:
How’s the state breaking overall?
That’s the big question. Overwhelmingly for Obama, and with 32% reporting for both Republicans and Democrats there are nearly 2 Democrat voters for every Republican voter.
Scar face and the Huck-ster in in a virtual tie.
Obama has more votes than all the Republicans combined.
This is playing out all over America in this primary season.
The modern day conservative movement died November, 2006. The funeral is this November 4th.
See ya there. Oh, and don’t wear black because we’re going to be celebrating. You know like a big Irish wake. Lot’s of drinking. Lot’s of new Demcorats will be born in August of 2009
GBS spews:
@ 13:
Oh, yeah he did! Like a speeding snail. Yikes, that McCain is whoopin’ ass, huh?
Am I right?
DustinJames spews:
@ 15, I was just sayin… It seemed like the majority of the advance votes were for Huckabee, hence his big lead.
It’s interesting to see it play out.
@ 14 – Yeah, it’s going for Obama, I figured Richard Pope had already stated that…
As I outlined in my comment @ 7 – it was a foregone conclusion with the pollings what they were. I was looking at what the deeper results were saying, since in Washington State, all the counties seemed to caucus 2-1 for Obama.
Richard Pope spews:
DustinJames @ 11,12
Yes, it is sad that some dirt-poor Appalachian counties in Virginia, with hardly any Black population (such as 2.65% in Buchanan), are voting heavily in favor of Hillary Clinton by 90% margins. A lot of these folks probably don’t know any better, and may be rejecting Barack Obama because of the color of his skin. Will they also favor a Republican in November for these same racial reasons? I guess we will find out in nine months …
Let’s see how Fairfax County, a suburban DC county with a 8.83% Black population (and one helluva lot more voters than Buchanan County) votes between Obama and Clinton. I think that Obama will carry Fairfax County by at least 20 points over Clinton.
I also note that 7% of the Virginia primary voters were Republicans crossing over to the Democratic primary. They favored Obama by 71% to 29%. I think the number of Republicans crossing over to vote for Obama in November (because they are inspired and think he is the best person for the job) will far higher than the number of Democrats crossing over to vote for McCain in November (because they don’t like the color of his skin).
DustinJames spews:
17 – It absolutely will, based off the demographic alone that it’s annual median household income is in excess of $100,000.
Those voters clearly go to Obama. The open primary, as you note, also definitely helped Obama over Clinton.
Gut feeling however, is that if it’s Obama vs McCain in November, in the end run, you won’t see that same crossover, or nearly as much of it. If it’s Obama vs Huckabee, I think you’ll see MUCH less of it.
DustinJames spews:
@ 17 – A question that popped up in re-reading your statement, I wonder how many voters are voting a same-color ticket, because of the color?
Richard Pope spews:
Looks like CBS just called Virginia for McCain …
DustinJames spews:
@ 20 – Yeah, CNN just called it for McCain too
Mark1 spews:
What’s the matter? Goldy can’t hack working a real job in the real world like the rest of us? Typical. Maybe YLB (who is unemployed), and Roger “Where’s the free handouts?” Rodent, who doesn’t work either and is a leech on the welfare and benefit roles can offer some help.
correctnotright spews:
@22: I would take up a handout for Mark1 – but I am not sure he could actually count the money if I gave it to him. Since he is a washington republican his actual “counting” skills are suspect.
However, I bet he is very good at predicting – even without any actual data points – kind of like Lesser.
I make the prediction that Mark1 gets a real job soon – so he doesn’t have to off on half-baked accusations about others. Also, when he actually loses his job (due to the republican recession) – he won’t go on unemployment and be a drain on the rest of us real working folks.
If I do see Mark1 out panhandling on the street, I will resist the temptation to kick his sorry, weak, republican butt and throw him a real dime instead. Even unemployed republican fools deserve some sympathy in the coming republican caused recession.
Just wondering why most of the republicans I know are mentally and physically “challenged”. I guess they look up to Reagan because he was some kind of real man (at least in the B movies) and they are not. Look at Lesser – the poor chub has learned to dress since college but that is about all you can say for him. He is not the swiftest boat in the river – but he caries the most tonnage.

Fresh from their feud on the campaign trail, Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama beat Bill Clinton in a contest almost as closely watched as the primaries being waged across the United States — the music industry’s Grammy Awards.
Obama on Sunday won the spoken word Grammy for the audiobook version of his blockbuster tome “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.” It marked his second statuette, following a win in 2006 for “Dreams From My Father,” an audiobook for a memoir first published in 1995.
Bill Clinton was seeking his third Grammy with “Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World,” a call to public service. Another former Democratic president, Jimmy Carter, also was in the running, with “Sunday Morning in Plains: Bringing Peace to a Changing World,” a collection of Bible lessons. Carter won the award last year.
No Republican politician has won the category since Everett Dirksen, an Illinois congressman and senator, in 1968.
PuddyStudy No Republican since 1968? Grammy Bias maybe? Or because Everett delivered Republican votes for the VRA and CRA when Al Gore Sr, Richard Russell and Robert Byrd implemented Creighton Headless Lucy Baril minority rules of engagement?

Um, was that really the best letter to send to Arquette? Aren’t you trying to win him over with this letter? “Dear Rod?” How about Dear Mr. Arquette? And why include that crap about “Dori has been after Goldy’s hide….?” Big turn-off. “Yeah, but it’s true!,” you defensively cry. I don’t give a damn if it’s true or not. It doesn’t belong in that letter. It detracts from the message. Listen, I want Goldy back just as much as anyone, but I would give that letter about a C+ grade in terms of effectiveness.
