About time…

Prompted by the need to manually adjust HA’s GMT offset to accommodate for Daylight Savings Time (what’s up with that, WordPress?), I once again opened a support ticket with the hosting company asking them to adjust the server’s clock, which has been off by about 40 minutes for I dunno, months. And possibly prompted by other support tickets related to DST, this time they did.

Yay.

    A server not running ntp? That’s really stupid. Hell, I can’t understand why my iPad doesn’t run ntp, it’s not like it’s a heavy protocol or something.

    No kidding. Back in my days as a unix sysadmin I would have been embarrassed as hell if a server’s clock was off by 1/10 of a second. What’s with this 35 minute drift bullshit?!?

    # 3: Nice summary of what’s happening in the article, although I was hoping for a “smoking gun” memo.

    Oh, and in the NPR videos, this morning they were pointing out that the parts released to the press early cut out where the NPR exec was saying “Some Republicans are telling me that…”, prior to the comments about the Tea Party. That’s three times now that we have selective editing to cast comments out-of-context, with the real nature of the comments not being clear until days later. Any news media which publishes anything by this guy prior to several days of vetting, including insisting the seeing the original (uncut) video, is guilty of journalistic malpractice.

    Finally, some comments from Run Judd’s weekly wrap up, which is always worth a couple of minutes of your time:

    @4: Like the Sherrod thing, we moderates and liberals need to stop our knee-jerk reactions to O’Keefe and Breitbart’s BS. This is the second time that people have had to resign due to selective editing and deliberate distortions, and we all know how much ACORN was hurt before by his crap. Besides, this guy’s now been caught impersonating a utility worker to try to get into private areas of a Seantor’s office–how is he ever going to have any credibility?

    Crap like this gives a lie to the myth of the ‘liberal media.’

    So here’s what I want to know: what’s going to happen now that Japan won’t be buying up any more of our debit and will probably be selling off a bunch of our debit that they own to finance rebuilding?
