And it’s Gov. Gregoire whose in the pocket of special interests? Yeah… right.
The BIAW alone has budgeted two to three million dollars this cycle toward electing Dino Rossi. (And if I have that number wrong, they are free to come right out and refute me.)
joe spews:
Thanks for the motivation BIAW, I just dropped $100 for Gov. Gregoire. I hope others will too.

demo kid spews:
Figures that all the Republicans are moaning about Gregoire’s financial backers, but COMPLETELY ignore the BIAW’s support of Rossi.
ByeByeGOP spews:
Yep I just kicked in $100 for CG. My guess is that is NOT the result the crooks and liars on the right were hoping for.
Cautiously optimistic spews:
I’m loving that the dems are going after rossi on his relationship with the BIAW (and now with a catchy video and all) … but I haven’t exactly noticed any of the BIAW-loving dems denouncing their friends, or refusing their money.
Daddy Love spews:
No, you see, DIno Rossi is in the pocket of A special interest. Big difference.
Daddy Love spews:
America: We don’t like Republicans.
Now that the LA Times/Bloomberg poll shows Barack Obama 49%, McCain 37%, a 12-point lead, do you really think Dino Lossi can win here (a state where SurveyUSA has Obama over McCain 55%-40%)?
How hard will he have to hide his Republican yellow stripe this time?
Daddy Love spews:
Hey, SurveyUSA has Obama in front of McCain 48%-47% in INDIANA! Uh, holy fucking crap!
McCain is not toast, he’s creamed corn. Which is good, because he really needs soft foods.
YLB spews:
Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican. Dino! You’re a Repulican.
Just face it man. Put it on your website.
Are you scared?
And while you’re at it, own up to being the BIAW’s tool.
ArtFart spews:
Uhhhh…maybe because “BIAW” or “GOP” is easier to spell than “Republican”?
Steve spews:
@4 Speaker Chopp is a Sonics-hating, BIAW-loving asshole. Feel better?
YLB spews:
Ooops. Left out the “b” in Republican.
rhp6033 spews:
I’m wondering how the local Native American tribes consider Rossi right now. He claims to be one of them. But his campaign is criticizing Gregoire for accepting campaign contributions from them, and from acting with respect to the gambling compact as … well, a governor.
You would think that they would be somewhat upset by this, what? I wonder how many Native Americans in this state vote, and in what percentages.
YellowPup spews:
@11: I’m sure Rossi is a Repulican too. :-)
rhp6033 spews:
DaddyLove @ 6: Wow. Those are some impressive figures. Even I am surprised. Looks like McCain’s base is pretty soft:
Of course, I expect that gap to close some by the time of the conventions.
1) Obama’s is on his post-victory “bounce”, which will trail off a bit as the campaign gets into full swing.
2) McCain will try his hand at debates/town meetings and try to diminish expectations in advance, so that if he comes across as ANYTHING less than a doltering idiot, some will be impressed.
3) McCain will also try to shore up his base and capture some undecided’s with scare stories about Obama.
But the economic issues seem to be paramount, according to this survey. Seems that most people think the Republicans had their chance, didn’t like what the results, and are willing to give the Democrats a try at it. It may be as simple as that. Republican attempts to blame the Democrats for the current problems, don’t seem to be gaining any traction.
proud leftist spews:
DL @ 6
Your poll article states: “In this national poll’s random sample of voters, 39% identified themselves as Democrats, 22% as Republicans, and 27% as independents.”
Wow, I can see why Rossi is afraid to call himself a Republican. And here I thought he was a complete idiot.
rhp6033 spews:
What still amazes me that Rossi is the best candidate the Republicans could field.
The local and national neo-cons drove most of the competent moderates (McKay, for example) out of the party. The remaining ones who are smart enough to do the job are also smart enough not to be a sacrificial lamb in what will clearly be a Democratic route this year.

Anyone doing a Google search, starting a couple of days from now, looking for “Rossi Repulican” will be able to find this comment thread :)
However, Google tends to properly spell some commonly misspelled words, and “Repulican” tends to get “Republican” most of the time anway on Google.
Steve spews:
@16 Alas, they’re reduced to being the party of the gubmint-hating, commie-fascist, BIAW-stormtrooper types. With that in mind, I’m sure the trolls here are all rabid Dino supporters.
VolksMeinung spews:
Um…. if the the BIAW was washingtons most powerful special interest group, wouldn’t their power have propelled pro BIAW candidates into office?
You can’t have it both ways lefties?
proud leftist spews:

Uh, not necessarily, numbnuts. Having piles of money permits an interest group to throw its weight around, but by no means assures success. That’s pretty elementary stuff, my little friend.
YLB spews:
wouldn’t their power have propelled pro BIAW candidates into office?
They’ve gotten at least one of their Republican guys onto the Supreme court and their guy Rossi (another Republican) owes his political career to them and came within a hair of making Governor.
They had a good amount of success when they flew under the radar of voter and media attention.
But their time may be waning. People are on to them. Especially their Republicanism.
YellowPup spews:
@19: The ad says that the BIAW is the “most powerful,” not the “all powerful.” I assume (looking out at all the cranes in Bellevue) the BIAW exerts influence in lots of ways other than just putting particular candidates into office.
Since I’ve not looked into it, if the BIAW isn’t the most powerful, does anyone know who is?
ByeByeGOP spews:
Man the righties are spinning hard to try to turn this one around. You’d think the assholes would be tired by now. They’re getting outed about every 16 seconds now. It’s fun to watch I have to admit.
YLB spews:
if the BIAW isn’t the most powerful, does anyone know who is?
Boeing’s lobbyists had the reputation of being practically joined at the hip with the State Legislature. Not sure that’s so true anymore.
VolksMeinung spews:
@20 no, it allows them to throw their money around. Money does not equal power despite what the communist manifesto says.
jacob spews:
And Goldy is in the pockets of any fucking idiot that will give him money!!!!

jacob slobbers:
So drop some cash in his “donate” link, and find out whether he’s in your pockets. If he is, you’ve certainly proved your point.
ByeByeGOP spews:
@26 deflection is NOT a defense. It’s an admission.
correctnotright spews:
The BIAW are far right wing nut cases – they have compared environmentalists who want to clean up Puget sound to Nazis. thye oppose any type of health care reforn and spending on education. They want to cut all taxes and stop all road building and transportation.
And Rossi is their poster child.
correctnotright spews:
Even Business Week (not exactly a liberal publication) verifies that McCain’s tax plan is a windfall only for the rich and that Obama’s tax plan will cut taxes for the middle class:
